Sorry for this long absence. Currently my life is filled with some minor and a few major problems. My elderly father is sick and in hospital - heart stuff. Sweet Wife is in flux. The weather sucks...its hot, which isn't a problem but I hate it none the less.
I'm tired.
Also, I've broken one of my simple promises as I haven't responded to your comments...I beg forbearance. Over the last few days I've barely glanced at this computer. Perhaps it's the holidays, not sure, but my mind is cluttered and my patience short.
I sincerely hope all of you are well, warm and well fed.
Please, take care.

Bits & Pieces
Cool and very windy here this morning. I'm into my busy season so entries will begin to be few and far between in the weeks to follow. Please be patient with me; we make hay while the sun shines.
My friend Duke just stepped in for coffee and gab. Reports his mother-in-law has some complications. Hold her in your prayers, please.
Our group meets tomorrow so I'll be sure and take pictures if any situation presents itself for such...never know with a bunch of veterans. I've yet to send my loin clothe to the cleaners. Its a bit grubby....
Gotta run, need to jerk another cup of coffee. You guys should hear the wind here...now, this sounds and feels like Autumn.
Do any of you remember the line etched on Hemingway's grave stone, "For he loved Autumn the best..."
Me too.

Busy
Sorry it's taken me so long to respond to comments left yesterday and over night. Just to busy here at work, which is a good thing. This morning I'm again in an up and down mood....can't think either.
Sad part is I'm only on my second cup of coffee....not good. Need coffee, I do.
Thinking.....
Little Bit jumped into my truck this morning and just had to show me how she now writes her 4's...begged me for a piece of paper and my pen. On the drive to school she filled a lined yellow sheet with her newly discovered form of four's. Joy is in the details.
The firearms business is slow. Few wish to sell, fewer still have them to sell. Bummer. This depression (admit it, it is) has touched every area of trade.
I await a spool of wire from my friend in Texas, MDR, so my friends in the group and I can proceed to run power to our clubhouse we affectionately call 'The Boar's Nest.' Picture me, like a little boy, jumping in place in anticipation. Thanks, Bubba. Our group member, ShooterSteve, has the generator standing by...I understand he recruited a pride of hamsters to supply the power to the generator. ShooterSteve is a fine electrician.
I suppose I should put it in gear and think of a Thanksgiving menu. I play chef for the family. Ham or Turkey. Both....we'll see.
Hey, gotta run.

Just A Quick One
We have a 'Nor Easter building for the weekend. The timing is perfect as my group will camp out at our BOL this weekend. I do love rain on a tin roof, it makes for a nice nights sleep.
This morning as I drove Little Bit to school we spoke of the silver lined clouds out over the ocean. With the sun glow behind, it was beautiful; a rose background with the dark clouds outlined in polished silver...Little Bit kept saying, "Oh, Papa, isn't it pretty." If only we all could see God's handwork through a child's eyes.
I began reading Survivors last evening. Made it through a few chapters before sleep overcame me. So far so good. I believe this novel will hold up alongside Patriots. Sales, I understand, are great. Good for Mr. Rawles.
I like my new coffee maker. The old one was at least ten years old, so coffee is special again....the pot is clean. I should get in the habit of hard applications of vinegar and water for the purpose of clean appliances. Say that ten times fast.
This morning I did something unusual and opened my bank statement. I should do this on a more frequent basis. It seems they (the bank) began charging me a monthly service fee. Understand, I have never had to pay a fee for checking since I've been in business. So, I sat with open checkbook and deducted four months of service fees from my account. I don't blame the bank. I blame the current monkeys in congress and the white house. Guess I'll read my bank statements in the future.
I have an idea for a post screaming in the back of my mind. I will not disclose my idea in fear my buddy, Duke, will steal it. He's funny that way. Ah, Duke, just kidding. Hint, dress code. Now, let me think.
Hey, it's time to jerk a cup of coffee....later.
