Thousand Yard Coyote

So you think you're a good long distance shot, watch this video.

Impressive.

Chuckle

As you know I keep the foul language to a minimum on my blog. After all it's written for my grandchildren. Having said that, I'll excuse the one bad word (hear me Little Bit) in this video, because it's funny and I've been known to use the same book and language.

Get it....

Lifespan of Mountain House Foods

I just received an email. Read. 29 years, not bad.

No, not one penny....

For That Day

Let's face facts; it's possible the critter presently ensconced at the White House could get re-elected, really, don't hold your breath. If so he'll have nothing to lose when it comes to a push for laws on the ban of 'assault rifles' and other laws.

If so, you'll want a few of these. They're cheap and are excellent protection for your pricey equipment.

Rainy Day & Soup

I arrived at the shop this morning before sunrise. It's cool and rainy here today. Nice weather. For some unknown reason I want a  big pot of potato soup.

Think I'll use this recipe. This is from my sweet friend, The Kitchen Witch. She knows her Southern cooking, so run over and check her out. Tell her Stephen sent you....

For your information we in the South make a 'slap 'ya mama' potato soup. We add Cajun spices. So, you Yankees out there might want to read the recipe and reduce the heat - wouldn't to want harm you poor folks.

Post Scrip - I have yet to hear from the bozo that called and wanted to sell 'two guns.'  I wait with baited breath.

Sign of the Times?

I recently purchased a case of toilet tissue for the shop. Yesterday I went to place a new roll on the holder. Noticed something odd about the new roll, and at first, I could not for the life of me figure what was wrong.

Then it hit me, the new roll seemed narrower. Said, to myself, nah...just dreaming. Took the old roll's cardboard middle section from the waste and measured it. Sure enough. Yes, I'm that anal.

The old roll measured 4 7/16th. The new roll, 4 inches.

Now I don't know why this bugs me so much, but it does...pay more for the product and receive less. It's a friggin rip off. Sign of the times...yes, in my humble opinion.

Quilted Northern, by the way. Buttholes.

The Late Call

Came in just before I locked the door. After I answered the phone the caller said, "I heard you buy guns."

I said, "Yes, but much depends on the type and condition, and you're asking price."

"I gots two." His words.

"Okay, what are they?" Silence. I waited, patiently I might add.

"Ah, I don't know."

I took a moment to think about his answer. Asked again, "What kind of firearms do you want to sell?"

Tick, tick, tick.

Caller said, "I'll bring 'em down there and you can see."

Have you ever felt that little tickle begin to finger your spine....get an uneasy feeling of 'this isn't kosher'. Like that...

I replied, "Why don't you wait until tomorrow. It's late and I'm about to shut it down for the day."

"So, you want me to bring 'em in?"

"Sure, tomorrow morning."

Click.

Standby.
