Just Me and The Owls

Here it is zero dark four thirty and I'm still reading. It's just me and owls.

The owls perch low in an old live oak just outside my window. Its been said their flesh closely resembles that of chicken.

NVG's or Surefire, I wonder.

    1. Next time give me a call and we'll meet for breakfast. It's now eleven and I should be mowing my grass...maybe later.

  2. And all this time I thought they tasted like eagle.

By the way, what are you doing with my Ruger at the top of your blog? :)

Buddy of mine was a firearms engineer at Ruger's when old Bill was at the helm. It was a different company then.

    1. Ask Duke...I'm bad about pinching nice old firearms. I never cared for Bill Ruger. I'm sure if you'd have cut him he'd bleed liberal fluid and I'm quite certain he'd have voted for Obama.

    2. He hated lawyers, so you have to give him that.

    3. True, and he was a fine engineer and I'll give him that too. But, I'll never forget him selling us (the gun culture) out on high capacity magazines back during the Clinton era. He did forever change the face of firearm manufacturing.

    4. Good point about the magazines. At the first opportunity I upgraded my P-89 to a 15 round magazine. POS 10 round . . .

  3. A friend of mine shot an owl when he was a boy. His father made him eat it for "you eat what you kill". He reports that it was not very good at all.

    1. Boy didn't know how to cook...owl requires a good butter sauce.

  4. Don't eat the owls, they have it tough enough. I have them crash into my Jeep headlights at night ever so often. I guess the lights blind them.

    1. Oops, too late Harry....try a good sauce and a nice dry burgundy next you hit one...and braise them slowly with garlic and onion. Lip smacking good.

    1. That is the very reason I had a hard wired generator system installed. Sorry, Bubba.
