Punk Domestics

My cellphone text 'bing' has kept me hopping all morning. As I write this the Dow is down four hundred odds points. Anyway, I have had a few moments to explore new sites on the internet (excuse me while I answer another text.) Where was I, oh. Found this site a few minutes ago and thought you good folks might like another daily read.

Any blogsite that combines food and canning is a winner to me. Check it out.

The self-proclaimed 'ruler' is on the television with his message of lies spouting our problems are solvable...idiot.  Despite it have a good day.

American Tenderbox

This article goes hand in hand with the current 'flash mod' incidents taking place in our country. This is a quick read so take a look.

Snippet.

For some time now, residents of some US cities have noted occasional incidents of seemingly random, racially motivated violence in which young Black males are involved.  The hot weather and bad economy seem to be combining to generate a small but possibly significant uptick this year.  The national media are doing their best to avoid looking too closely at this disturbing phenomenon, and perhaps for good reason.  What the United States doesn’t need is a media firestorm that triggers copycat violence.

Our Nation, Today

Gold has broken historic records, today. The markets, world over are in a death spiral, today.  My friends have all contacted me and said they're worried and are increasing the food and ammunition storage, today. My Sweet Wife is scared, today....and, as she works for a very large world wide 'evil business' in their mortgage bond department, and has spoken of withdrawing her IRA, you too should be worried, now.

I, have my business open, today. My day off.

Is there hope - yes. Don't live in fear, live prepared.

May the Good Lord bless you.

Little Bit at the Fish Market

Little Bit instructed me to let all her fans know she has a new haircut.  So to fulfill her orders to me I thought I'd use a few photos taken yesterday at my local fish market to show off her new 'do.'  So, I give you Little Bit at the fish market.

Here are my friends at the best fish market in the North Florida area.

I sure hope all of you have a great Sunday and hopefully I'll see you soon.

Mayhaw Jelly

My friend, Duke, recently returned from a camping trip in Georgia. He was kind enough to bring home a few jars of this great Mayhaw Jelly.  For those of you that are not fortunate enough to live in the Southern States of America, and as such, haven't had the wonderful experience of waking to buttered toast and Mayhaw Jelly, well, shucks, too bad.
It's too good to share with Yankees.....

It's The LIttle Things

A few days ago I stood in the kitchen pouring a glass of iced tea. I felt a tug on my shirt and turned to find Little Bit. She had 'that' look on her face, stern, eyes squinted.

"Papa."

"What, Honey."  I took a big gulp.

"I've told you about that."

Lately she has taken after her Nana. She scolds me on my health. I truly don't believe I need the lectures as I'm a fine specimen of a man.

"About what, Honey, my tea drinking?"

She walks around so that she has a face forward attacking position. She places her little hands on her hips and reinforces her 'look.'  I expect her next move to be the foot stomp on the tile attack...

"Papa, you don't drink enough water and I've told you to quit drinking so much tea." Like that.

"Little Bit, I drink a half gallon of water a day."  Her, blink-blink, with those pretty drop dead brown eyes.

Then, "I don't see you drink water."

"Trust me, Sweetheart, I do, really."

Let's face it, sweet ice tea is the table wine of the South. I tell her such. She doesn't buy it.

I change my tactics. "Why do you want me to drink so much water, I love tea."

She changes her approach too. She walks over and hugs me. I wait and put my tea glass aside and hold her.

"Cause, Papa, I love you."  I  hear Sweet Wife sneak up behind us, quiet. I know she's waiting on the out come of this chastising my heart has given me.

Me, "I love you too, Honey, but what is it with this water campaign you and Nana have with me?"

Little Bit, "You 'member when you got sick last week when you cutted the grass?"

"Yes, I was just dehydrated, Honey, Nothing to worry yourself over."

"But Papa, what if the next time you don't get better and we can't wake you up and you goes in the hospital and the nurses and doctors don't fix you and then I won't ever have you again and then I won't be ables to come and see you and then I'll be all lonely and cry and I won't ever have a Papa again."

Just like that, fast and breathless and now the tears were flowing and I felt like crap. Behind me, slightly out of sight, I heard Sweet Wife, sigh.

I bent and looked Little Bit in the eye and said, "I'll drink more water, Honey, I promise."

In return, Little Bit wiped her nose on my shirt and said, "Pour out the tea, Papa."

I did.
