Distraction

It's a bit after noon and finally I have my first break of the day. Isn't capitalism wonderful.

Unfortunately this, my humble blog, will suffer as I've found another distraction...

Netflix has the second series of House of Cards available for binge viewers, like me.

If you haven't as yet indulged, do so. Its worth the effort.

  1. Sadly I gave up my netflicks account just this week. It was part of my getting ready for the decline by removing addictions effort.

I will just live vicariously through you :)

    1. Hey, we're in the process of doing much the same as you. Even though I'd keep Netflix. My downloads are to my desktop at work or this laptop here at home. Even if I were to shutdown Dish I'd still be able to entertain myself with a book or by viewing movies and such on the computer. Thanks, my friend.

  2. You now have something in common with President Obama. He is addicted to House of Cards also. Wish he was addicted to being a president worthy of the title!

  3. Kevin Spacey plays an absolute sleezeball congressman in this series but I think most of the real pols could play themselves and be more sleezy than anything that happens on the show! And I have developed the hots for Robin Wright, now I feel terrible because I would be going in behind Sean Penn. Man, I am so ashamed!

    1. I like Spacey's acting...as far as Robin, not bad. Sean Penn, sleazeball.

  4. I get enough of sleazy politicians in the local news, so I'll pass. I mean, Kevin Spacey's good and all, but still...

  5. There were two scenes in this second season which caught me very much by surprise where I said out loud.... "DAMN!" and "OH...HELL NO!"

It isn't often when a piece of cinema makes me comment out loud to myself.

Try to figure out which two scenes caused me to do this, and you will win valuable prizes and my utmost respect and admiration.

    Maybe. ;)

I find it a little disconcerting that O'Vomit likes the show too.

I can only imagine he watches it and thinks to himself, "What a bunch of pikers."

  6. Have you seen the Brit version this came from? Loved it. Avoiding this right now because I still haven't finished Breaking Bad and Dexter.

  7. we binged through season one in only a few days. i read a really interesting article about Kevin Spacey where he said that tv is going to have to catch up with netflix because people are showing their preference for being able to watch an entire season quickly, one show after another. he also said that he has had a bazillion people come up to him and say things like - "man, you took 2 whole days out of my life. i watched the entire season start to finish and didn't even sleep". he said he loved it when people said that to him. it was a really good article.

we're on season 2 but we are trying to just watch one episode a night - it's not easy. what makes it easier is that after we watch an episode of cards, we then move on to the new Borgia's with Jeremy Irons - it's awesome! jam thought he would hate it because of the other show The Borgia's...but this one with Irons is really dramatic, excellent acting, excellent cinematography and a solid story line.

but when, oh when, oh when is netflix going to get the 3rd season of American Horror Story?!?!?!?! i'm dying for that to come out!

    your friend,
    kymber
