Uh-oh

I'm in trouble now. I was just informed my mother-in-law now reads my blog. Seems Sweet Wife tipped her to its existence. She, the MIL, will now keep an eye on me.

I must be a good boy.

Now, it's a known fact everything I write is in jest....I'm sure all of my dear readers can testify to this simple (or complex) truth.

Y'all break in and back me anytime you wish...and, Ms. Minnie, the rifle really is hers...I swear.

Stephen

  1. My friend, you write honestly, and from the heart. I don't think anyone would object to that.

  2. LOL. You're in trouble now my friend! I finally told my sister about my blog last month. Nobody else - family or friend - knows about it except my hubby and he only reads it when I ask him to. Ah, such freedom!

    Blessings,
    Red

PS My sister really likes YOUR blog!

    1. Interesting enough I was extremely reluctant when I wrote my first words on this blog. It was (and still is) intended for Little Bit. So, then, I could have cared less if the whole world read my words, thoughts, fears or the mundane of my life. Sadly I now find myself under a self-imposed restrictive style as a result of family and worldwide audience (email from South America last night) feedback. If I must write for them, how am I to write for her and myself...

All that to say I understand and wish I too had your freedom. Thank you, and tell your lovely sister I said hello and God bless.

    1. Sadly, no. We must have a change of venue for future blog meets. Thanks, my good friend.

  6. I don't believe a word you say. You are always jesting, good clean fun. (does that help?)

  7. Quite frankly I don't remember anything here that my mom would object to. But IIRC you've been married as long as I (or longer), so I expect that she knows who you are by now ...

But Rev. Paul is entirely correct - you write from the heart. That's why I keep coming back.

I need to do a little better policing my language, but Dad used to read my blog while he was still this side of Glory. I like it that my joint is (at worst) PG-13. Your place seems pretty much the same.

    1. My good friend, thank you. Yes, we've been married a bit longer I do believe. As this blog has always been nothing more than a long letter to my Little Bit I have always been careful to keep its content 'clean,' as it were...

I was taught at a very early age bad language, cursing, was nothing more than the lack of vocabulary. A lesson I've failed many times. Yet, when I write with full awareness my words are exposed to and easily read by untold numbers I do try and keep same within limits of decency.

      Thanks, my friend.

  8. Hey, Stephen, did you ever deliver those puppies you rescued to the orphanage? I know you were planning on doing that after volunteering at the shelter where you feed kittens dolphin safe tuna on Saturdays.

    1. I did indeed. Gathered trash from roadways afterwards. Soup kitchen later this morning.

      Thank you, my good friend.

  9. Is this the mother in law you were putting the laxative in the stew for?

    1. Yes. Her lovely daughter, in hushed tones, explained her mother's awful condition and I only tried to help further her recovery. The stew, I understand, was quite tasty.

      Thanks, my friend.

  10. If it matters my Father and Mother read mine. I'm a half a century old and that still concerns me.

As others have said your posts are heart felt. I find nothing wrong here. At all. I'm glad you are here and I check every day.

  12. Stephen, dear sweet one...there is a reason that i call you dear sweet one....it's because you are one of those rare men....strong, loyal, with an incredible work ethic...and yet you have as much tenderness as you have strength...which is evinced in the way that you treat women and children in general, SW and Little Bit in reality, and why your friends are some of the best guys i have ever "met" on the internet. your MIL is aware of all of these qualities in you and appreciates them. as does your SW, Little Bit and all of your friends, both physically real and all of your internet ones.

    your friend,
    kymber
