Ten Minutes

Was all the time I needed this morning to vote. I hit the deck, early, showered and dressed and was out the door into the rain and darkness because the 'media' said voters were sure to stand in line for hours to cast their ballot.

I was lucky and quickly found a place to park my truck. I dashed (for me a quick walk) through the rain. In and out.

Don't listen to the media. They're liars. Please, vote.

Stephen

  1. Well at least Rosie will get one vote from your precinct.

  2. No waiting line here, but there never is. Our town has a high percentage of voters, but there just ain't a lot of people in the whole town.

School kids had a bake sale there too, so it was well worth going.

    1. I thought I did very well considering Florida has one of the longest ballots this year. Two pages.

  3. I was not first to get to the precinct, but it's cold & windy, and a lot of folks were slow getting out of their cars. Wound up being 3rd to get a ballot, and there were a dozen behind me before the doors opened. Parking lot was full, with cars circling looking for spots, when I left.

Going early is best, as you & I have seen.

  4. Planning to go a little later. My daughter has been in line for more than an hour in the neighboring socialist state and regretting forgetting her book.

  5. We have run out of ballots in our Northern Kentucky city. They are waiting on Lexington to print more. I've never seen so many people show up. It could be because of KY Hunting and Fishing Amendment House bill 1 to protect the rights of the residents that hunting and fishing can not be outlawed without the vote of the people!!!!

    1. Let's hope, Amber, we win...still have an uneasy feeling about this election. Thanks, my dear friend.

  6. Lines were long here in Orlando. We got there before the open and still waited 2 hours to vote. It's a pain, but as long as those standing in line voted my way, we're OK...

  9. For sure! I've had about all I can stand of this political hoopla. It gives me gas.
The wife is about to disown me. I even managed to chase off our dog Nugget the other night.

GET OUT THERE AND VOTE !!!!!!!

  10. Took me 4 minutes. Not to brag or anything. That's what happens when you vote out in the sticks.

  11. Took me about five minutes, with me explaining to my 23 month old daughter what was going on, what local (state) laws and propositions were on the ballot, and to always vote incumbents out ("Shall this judge retain their position?" automatic no for me) while I was doing my duty.

  12. You're lucky...In my little no red light town I waited for over an hour. Most folks I've ever seen turn out to vote.

  13. I was smart this time I went and voted at 8 am.
Polls open at 6 am and the voting comes in waves. First are the farmers and people coming home off the night shift then you have an hour or so open that's when i went. Around 9 the old folks leave the coffee shops and start voting. After that its folks in town running errands then finally its everyone coming home from work. Alot of folks here work at the local prisons and you can tell when shift change hits.
