Pecan Pie and Coffee

I'm stuffed. As such I was forced, made to eat a slice of pecan pie...matter of fact Sweet Wife almost had to beat me with a stick and force it down my throat. She even forced a cup of fine coffee on me.

She's mean that way.

But let me tell 'ya, Southern Pecan Pie and an excellent cup of coffee sure hits the spot on a late Thanksgiving afternoon.

Time for a nap.

Stephen

  2. And to you, my friend. I'm full as a tick after a day on a dog's ear.

  3. My favorite part has always been to eat the middle out of a pecan pie. All that ooey, gooey, carmelly goodness. I could live without the crust and pecans. Dayum diabetes just KNEW I loved pecan pies. I wish Stud and I could have been with you and sweet wife, just for desert.

p.s. That cup of coffee looks like mine does. A ton of cream.

  6. Sounds like cruel and unusual punishment to me ... that is, the part where you got some & we didn't. :^)

  7. Must have been a mighty "Fine" stick she beat you with! I'm thinking about the thickness a popcycle or tongue depressor. At least something made of balsa wood to force you to eat pie and grab a cup of coffee. Well all stories have a few embelishments. They usually start off with
"This is no BS, or wait and hold my beer" We've played redneck stories before. It must be so sad for liberals and progressives they just don't get irony or sarcasm. Shucks we see Turkeys attacking Mass. residents and while wild turkey can be good eating. We actually hope the turkeys will win, Or at least do a bit of damaged that must be explained on the insurance form. Yes! I know I'm evil and I should take no joy in Turkeys attacking liberals/progressives in the Boston suburbs. But I can't help myself! I giggle

    1. She has a oak limb behind the kitchen door. It hurts something awful.

I'd love to see a turkey attack a liberal...now I bet that's funny. Thanks, my friend.

  8. Yeah and we believe that little story!...not for a minute!!
Can't beat a good pecan pie, tho, unless it's by a good pumpkin pie! :)

Had a house full of company yesterday, so no nap for me. Did enjoy a "snack" of leftovers by the firepit in the back yard before all went home. Love those leftovers! Now I 'should' fast today, but no, there's a turkey leg calling my name for dinner!

    Blessings to you and DW

  9. People just don't understand what we go through to celebrate the holidays.

I feel your pain. I was forced to eat a second slice of homemade carrot cake with cream cheese icing. Such suffering!
