Coffee Pot

I like this picture. Stumbled across it this afternoon and just want to share it with you.

I'm thinking circa 1950's.

Update, thanks to Old NFO we have a date of 1945. I had to physically raise the picture to read the date.

  1. Well, it says 1945 on the picture... I remember seeing those glass pots in the mid-50s when I was a little kid.

  2. Mom always used those tin pots with the little spout and separate lid. I remember because when she'd get mad, she'd throw it at dad and hit the wall with it. Bad aim.

I personally would LOVE to have a cup of coffee made by those old percolators. They seemed to do such a good job, but one helluva mess to clean the basket.

    1. Joy, Ebay is your friend...these old pots and percolators still await us.
Funny, I remember writing an answer to your post last evening on my laptop and now its gone...

      Thanks, my lovely friend.

  3. I remember the pot pictured, as well. Percolators made better coffee, though. We've got one stored with our camp stove, for when the lights have gone out.

    1. I still use a percolator at home. Like you, I have a couple on standby for emergency use. They make fine coffee. Thanks, my friend.

  4. That stuff in the pot sure looks like it's been cooking a while!
