  3. we are looking forward to it....although it has been a long time coming with many set-backs. i find this sentence from the wiki entry pretty telling:

"In March 2011, the Los Angeles Times reported that MGM is changing the villains in its Red Dawn remake from Chinese to North Korean in order to maintain access to China's lucrative box office."

    wiki entry here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Dawn_%282012_film%29

i wonder how long till it's on netflix? if you go and see it, dear sweet one, let us know what you think of it. oh and i don't mind spoilers!

    your friend,

  4. They changed it up.... wasn't it the Chinese this time? looks more like a North Korean flag than Chinese.

Funny thing is to make it more realistic it would more likely be the a DHS symbol that is attacking us.

  5. They kept running out of money, lost their producer, got another producer, and then the Government told them not to piss off the Chinese. So then major changes had to be made to the whole script and film.

  6. The problem I have with this movie is that instead of using the Chinese or even the Russians as invaders they use North Korea. When "24" was on TV they would ignore the obvious and create some phony Nazi group to trump up as trying to take over the world. What would be wrong with using the obvious; radical muslim terrorists?
North Korea is a very real threat to South Korea and I wouldn't be at all suprised to wake up one day to discover that they attacked the South. North Korea and somewhat of a threat to Japan and since the North Korean leaders and generals are crazy it is indeed possible that they would attack Japan. But the U.S. mainland? No way.

    1. I read where Korea couldn't whip its way out of a wet paper sack....nice comment. Thanks, Anon.

  7. The "Tomorrow when the War Began" Series did the same thing. The author I seem to remember reading started out with a Chinese invasion of Australia and then was forced to change it to an unknown Asian antagonist.

    These days PCness infects everything.

    1. Now that you mention it I believe you're correct, Larry. It was Cubans with Russian equipment and help. Thanks, my friend.
