Sunday Morning In The Rain

It's raining here and you won't hear me bitch about it at all, we need it.  I've spent the last two nights alone since my Sweet Wife has spent that time with her mother at the Mayo Clinic. So far she seems fine. Time will tell. She underwent several hours of brain surgery yesterday.

After my morning coffee I decided to make a pork roast Irish stew. Prep time was about forty-five minutes and now my house smells great. As a matter of fact my fingers now smell of fresh rosemary cut from my herb garden.

I hope all of you have a pleasant and restful Sunday. See you tomorrow.

Here's my roast settled in for a long day of simmering.

  1. It looks good. I have not figured out what I am going to cook for supper yet. It's to hot to cook outside, I don't want to heat the house up to much, I feel lazy today, so I guess that just leaves baked potatoes.
I hope everything went well with the surgery.

  4. The rain was nice. It's quit now but I'm sure more will move in this afternoon. We will have fresh asparagus and cornbread too.

  5. It would seem posting comments using my Blackberry I've lost a reply to MDR, Joe, and Arsenius...so, let's do 'er again.
MDR, thanks, everything so far has gone well with the surgery. It's hot here too but with the rain this morning and the a/c it's nice inside and I don't mind cooking.
Joe, an invitation stands for the future, but with the chance we'll be helping with the MIL this evening it'll wouldn't work. Tell the sweet Glock Girl I await her new blog. You guys are good friends.
Arsenius, thank you for the kind words. The stew I'm sure will be good. I put lots of effort into my cooking. Also will have fresh asparagus and homemade cornbread, baked the old way in a seasoned cast iron skillet.

  10. Our spring and summer has been nothing but cool, wet, and windy here in the Pacific NW. Garden is off to a slow start. Your stew looks yummy. What did you put in with it?

  11. Rose, thanks for stopping by and I understand your weather very well. I, once upon a time, lived up in your neck of the woods. Little place in Western Washington.
As far as the stew's ingredients, I'll make it a post devoted to you. Stand by.
