  1. My neighbor had one like that when i was growing up. We had an older Massy Fergusun that was made in 69 and it still runs...sometimes.

  3. I learned to drive on a 9N. Or the basics anyway. My father just bought one a few months ago so he could tinker with it and he still has the original one.

They are some great old work horse tractors.

  4. MDR,so did I, in an orange grove. Sweep hay and bush-hogged behind an old Farmall.

PioneerPreppy, I agree, they're fine old tractors. The one pictured is a beauty too.

  5. I wish I had a tractor like that. I could get a trailer and it would serve me well hauling wood and such up and down the mountain. And , like you, I'd just like to have one. Even if I have to rationalize it.

  6. Arsenius, I can't think of anyone that could use an old tractor more than you. Your location almost begs for its use. I have the use of two out at our location, another sure wouldn't hurt.

  7. Stephen - you have NO IDEA how much we could use that!!!! so if you happen to stumble on 2 or 3 for free and are wondering what you should do with the extras - please keep me in mind!!! i will do the same for you!!!

oh and i am sure that shipping one from the US to Canada and/or vice-versa wouldn't cost that much - hahahahahah!

still loving all of your posts!

  8. Now for your tractor lesson. The tractor pictured is a Ford NAA "Golden Jubilee" was released as part of the 50th anniversary of Ford (in 1953) The first type of tractor like this was the 9N (3 speed tractor) followed by the 8N (4 speed) The 8N was made for quite a few years. I have 2 of them one 1951 and 1952. The tractor behind this one in the first picture is either a 9N or 8N.

  10. Wish my 48' looked that nice, but then again, we use ours to maintain a 3 mile road.
