Home Invasion

Yes, I'm still alive. I've extended my business hours, for obvious reasons. My house has been converted into a tax office for my MIL. It's a long story...and I'm too tired to relate the details. Suffice it to say, my life has been turned inside out.

When sufficient time has passed I'll relate all the gory minutia.

(Next door a very nice house is for sale. Yesterday she mentioned she might walk over and write a check for its purchase. I fainted.)

  7. Stephen,

I've been in your shoes, a refuse to do it again. And it wasn't my MIL, it was my own mom years ago!

I'm praying for you and Sweet Wife, take a deep breathe and start making plans with the guys.

  9. Yeah. Saint Stephen. I know you don't like the fit or feel of that word . . . but it's not how we feel about someone . . . it's how you treat 'em (despite your inner feelings). And I'll bet she thinks you're planning an mom-in-law's wing on your own home :)

    1. Cathy, sweet lady, not gonna happen. She's wealthy enough to write a check for the neighbors house but I hope she changes her mind....oh, the problems.

  11. Next door? If the cash is there, a very good idea in the long run. Don't open that unicorn tin yet, it will only go up in value.

  13. POOR Stephen. You will soon have a 24/7 business and a cot in the back.

It's a disaster in the making. Hide the guns or get a good lawyer on retainer.

  14. Next door sounds a bit more preferable to permanent house guest, but only a bit.
