Cut Shells

Recently someone asked me about cut shotgun shells. I've only now remembered I'd promised to find and post the video, and I always keep my promises. I like this 'Ole boys shotgun sling too.

Perhaps sometime in the future this little trick might come in handy.

  2. Hey! That's good to know. I, too, have never heard of a 'cut shell'. Gonna have to make some inquiry's with my gun buddies to see if they've ever tried it. I have a sweet little 410 and I assume it would work with any shell?

  4. I tried this at the indoor range I go to, and it appears to work. That is, the entire "slug" came out of the barrel in one piece, and punched a nice, round hole in the target at distances up to the 50' or so that the range has.
I haven't tried it at the outdoor range I go to, which has areas out to 600 yards. Next time my son and I go there, I'll try the cut-shell ammo at various ranges.

    1. Then it worked...that's the purpose, to send a 'slug' downrange and punch nice wholes in critters...they will tumble too. Thanks, my friend.

  5. It does work, just make sure not to do anything silly like use a choke that is too tight. It's quite devastating when it hits.

    1. Very true, 45er. A modified choke works very well. Notice that old boy used his left barrel...
