A few days ago I stood in the kitchen pouring a glass of iced tea. I felt a tug on my shirt and turned to find Little Bit. She had 'that' look on her face, stern, eyes squinted.
"Papa."
"What, Honey." I took a big gulp.
"I've told you about that."
Lately she has taken after her Nana. She scolds me on my health. I truly don't believe I need the lectures as I'm a fine specimen of a man.
"About what, Honey, my tea drinking?"
She walks around so that she has a face forward attacking position. She places her little hands on her hips and reinforces her 'look.' I expect her next move to be the foot stomp on the tile attack...
"Papa, you don't drink enough water and I've told you to quit drinking so much tea." Like that.
"Little Bit, I drink a half gallon of water a day." Her, blink-blink, with those pretty drop dead brown eyes.
Then, "I don't see you drink water."
"Trust me, Sweetheart, I do, really."
Let's face it, sweet ice tea is the table wine of the South. I tell her such. She doesn't buy it.
I change my tactics. "Why do you want me to drink so much water, I love tea."
She changes her approach too. She walks over and hugs me. I wait and put my tea glass aside and hold her.
"Cause, Papa, I love you." I hear Sweet Wife sneak up behind us, quiet. I know she's waiting on the out come of this chastising my heart has given me.
Me, "I love you too, Honey, but what is it with this water campaign you and Nana have with me?"
Little Bit, "You 'member when you got sick last week when you cutted the grass?"
"Yes, I was just dehydrated, Honey, Nothing to worry yourself over."
"But Papa, what if the next time you don't get better and we can't wake you up and you goes in the hospital and the nurses and doctors don't fix you and then I won't ever have you again and then I won't be ables to come and see you and then I'll be all lonely and cry and I won't ever have a Papa again."
Just like that, fast and breathless and now the tears were flowing and I felt like crap. Behind me, slightly out of sight, I heard Sweet Wife, sigh.
I bent and looked Little Bit in the eye and said, "I'll drink more water, Honey, I promise."
In return, Little Bit wiped her nose on my shirt and said, "Pour out the tea, Papa."
I did.

Zeer Pot
This morning on Survivorblog I noticed a little link to this video and thought it was a great idea for those that are diabetic. When in a grid down situation this could indeed save your life.
Sorry for all the videos lately but I'm busy. Hey, someone has to work and pay those taxes; I have democrats to support.

Dick Proenneke
I admire and respect the late Dick Proenneke. I'm sure many of you have seen his self-filmed movies on PBS over the last few years. The second part of 'Alone In The Wilderness," has just been released. Dick was one tough old coot. May he rest in peace.
If you missed part 1, here it is. Enjoy.

Need I Say More
Now we have this: http://www.prisonplanet.com/obama-launches-gun-grab.html.
I'm, to put it in simple terms, pissed.
Snippet:
A type of martial law has been imposed upon the entire Southwest zone in the name of fighting cross-border drug gangs, restricting 2nd Amendment rights and placing the burden of proof upon the seller. Obama’s newly issued Executive Order #13581 ‘Blocking Property of Transnational Criminal Organizations‘ declares a national emergency, nominally going after drug gangs like Las Zetas, yet is written vaguely enough that nearly any entity could be seized if a link is suspected. One such likely target here are the gun shops that ATF and Justice Department have repeatedly tried to link to gun violence. Will dealers who either fail to comply with this paperwork or who are suspected of supplying guns that are later sold across the border be shut down and seized?
Just as drug war border zones extending 100 miles from the border are sold as “Constitution free zones” where rights can be violated, the ATF has effectively obligated gun dealers in 4 states to preemptively report on its customers, despite existing background checks under the FBI. Meanwhile the Justice Department, ATF, FBI & Co. based in Phoenix ran a false flag under Operation Fast & Furious to arm drug gangs to frame sellers in the Southwest border zone. A similar false flag was run in Austin in 2010 where the ATF and local police staged an arrest and declared a ban on private sales in effort to shut down Texas Gun Shows, a favorite target of gun grabbers longing to close “loopholes.”
Sorry, not having a great morning. This is why I try and avoid politics in my blog, which isn't working very well today.

Sneaky
You decide....but I have few reasons to doubt the following news.
http://www.infowars.com/super-congress-to-target-second-amendment/
A snippet:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) pulled no punches in making it plain that the Super Congress would have supreme authority. “The joint committee — there are no constraints,” Reid said on the Senate floor. “They can look at any program we have in government, any program. … It has the ability to look at everything.”
That includes introducing laws to restrict the second amendment, states a Gun Owners of America bulletin, warning that the body would be “a super highway for gun control legislation”.

Is this the tipping point?
