World War Z

Thanks to Netflix I've finally watched Z.

Not a bad flick, and I do recommend you take a gander. Try and spot the Coleman lantern, the real thing, not the battery model.

Remember, zombie uprisings are very unpredictable. Keep a firearm close to hand in case of attack. My constant companion rides behind the seat of my truck.

Zombies are a real threat...all I need do is glance outside my window and count; there, six of the boogers across the street.

It's dangerous out there.

Cranberries in March

Still here, just busy. She wanted baked turkey, with dressing and gravy. I am but her humble servant and as I type the bird is in the oven. She asked about cranberries....so I walked to the garage freezer and brought forth the red goodness. The cranberry sauce chills. Guess we'll have a holiday dish in March.

I aim to please.

The winds of today have forced me inside. I cannot paint under these conditions. So once again my Coleman stove restoration has been delayed, well almost, I did clean and polish a few minor fittings and screws and shot a layer of primer on each. If I can remember I'll snap a few pictures. The stove body is completely disassemble and primed...not much to show. 

Time to baste the bird, and read..see 'ya later.

I Said It Was Addictive

Here's my next project. She's an old Sears, Roebuck and Company model 427. She was of course manufactured by Coleman.

This model is in Olive. Not sure why but Sears requested several color combinations. I've a blue and black model standing by on a shelf.

Above, as you can see the lower case is filled with rust. This is after I washed her down and cleaned out the old spider webs and roach eggs. She once belonged to my deceased father-in-law, and as you might well imagine, Sweet Wife has an emotional attachment to this piece.

Thought I'd give you a before picture. Notice the tank at the rear.

I'm almost finished with my current restoration. After I complete the gas tank and fire it I'll post a picture...just to make sure I bore you good folks to death.

How I finished dinner. 

I was worried I'd not have cornbread for my stew but the power came back online just in time. Guess I'll look into one of those old Coleman ovens for future blackouts. Cornbread is important don't 'ya know.
