.32-20

All I want, at present, is one small box of .32-20, just one. Stuff is rare as hen's teeth. Can't find it. None, and it ticks me off.

See, the thing is I want to shoot. I miss the faint odor of gun powder. The thump of lead (the real stuff) as it slaps a target, and I sorely miss the fine company of my friends.

For far too long I've denied myself the therapy of the gun range and the fellowship of my friends. And, I've a new toy. It requires this most antique cartridge. The load is still manufactured - when component parts are available. Every source is badged back ordered, or out of stock.

Anyway, soon. Soon I'll take the fresh air and sling lead.

*****

As an aside...we're both fine. She's out of pain and the mass the doctors found in my lower body isn't....

Thank the Lord.

To all of you...my sincere thanks. You're good people.

Stephen

    1. I know Bubba....I purchased a twenty round box late last year and some how the box found its way into Duke's range bag. Really, a fact...now here I am without and him in north Georgia. Thanks, my friend.

  4. I will ask my Step Dad I believe he has a .32 WCF somewhere or did, doesn't mean he didn't trade it off at some point but I know he mentioned it when I was talking about the absurd Nagant pistol round last year.

  6. Glad things are looking up for both of you on the medical front.

As for the ammo . . . Sheesh. It took a couple days to find a few boxes of .22 magnum for my dad's handgun when I was down to Florida. Hardly an exotic round. Don't know what you are going to do.

    1. Same here. The most wanted is hiding under a bush, or the clerks of Wally World and other places tuck it under their beds.

I'll find it, eventually. Thanks, my friend.

  9. I've followed your blog for a long time without comment and just wanted to express my relief that all is well with both your wife and yourself. I know the deep concerns your most assuredly had, not for yourself, but for your wife.
Even though I don't know you I have had both of you in my prayers as I lost my wife nearly 18 years ago at the young age of 43.
On a more positive note, if I did have a box of 32-20 in my stash it would be yours as I seldom get out to "smoke em" anymore.
Anyway, God bless and I hope the news continues to be positive for both of you.

    1. Jim, my new friend, thank you so very much for the kind prayer. We had just about lost hope, well I did, not her. She now states the Lord indeed healed her. Where there had been many tumors, lumps counted and evidenced, are now gone. She is clear. Where before she had pain, all gone.
You are and shall always be my friend. Welcome, and God bless.

  10. dear Stephen - i have never loaded my own. but that won't stop me now that you and Sweet Wife are both out of the woods. i will try to make my own rounds for your specifications ...but i think we will both end up in jail when i send them to you. just tell me not to send them and all will be ok brother. otherwise, we are going to have to learn international sending mail from one prison to another. i am so glad that you didn;t get the dreaded diagnosis. and i am so glad that Sweet Wife is ok too. come back and fill us in on all of the happenings that have been happening when you have the time. a whole bunch of us have been missing you. much love to you and yours always.

    your friend,
    kymber

    1. Thanks, my dear friend, but sooner or later I'll find a box. Did locate a dealer willing to part with single, individual rounds, for two dollars each. No kidding. Single rounds.
How would I ever live with myself if I fired a shot and thought of a two dollar bill whipping down range.
Again, thank you for the kind offer and thought. You're a good man, my friend.

  12. Oh thank God you are both all right. Winchester will make a run once in a while (every few years) but not lately. My DH says somebody will come up with a box for you. He wishes it were him. He will keep an eye out for you.

    1. There is a place, on the web, Old Western Scrounger, that reloads quality rare ammo. I'll find it.

Thank you both very much. God bless.

  13. Very good news!!
32-20. Have you considered loading your own? I have a Winchester, a Model 92 I think, in 38wcf. Pretty much the same bottle neck cartridge. It takes a little care to set up to avoid collapsing it, but I don't recall it as being a major problem. Fun to shoot!

    1. Muddy, yes I have considered loading my own. It's the components, those rare pieces, that make it difficult to reload. Thanks, my friend.
