Change

I have decided to make a change in my comments settings. I have limited comments to only those readers registered with Google.

I hate it, but cannot in all good conscience stand by while those readers posting under 'anonymous' leave disturbing comments.

Please, register with Google if you'd like to leave civil comments. I do welcome all reader opinions. I do not edit reader opinions and indeed welcome them, but please keep them civil.

Civil discourse and debate need not be reduced to name calling and hateful mud slinging, and I shall not allow it on my blog.

I truly hope this isn't a hardship for my readers. And, I'm sorry but I feel this change very necessary.

Stephen

    1. Sad to say I'd never given it (moderation of comments) much thought, until last night. Thanks, my friend, and oh, thanks for the flag.

    2. You're welcome - and please forgive multiple copies of that e-mail. I kept getting error messages stating that it hadn't gone through.

  8. It's a shame you have to do this, but I do understand completely. I've always moderated my comments, for this specific reason.

  12. How can any one leave a disturbing comment on your blog?
You always have well written posts that are well worth reading.

Keep up the good work Stephen, the anonymous ones don't matter!

    1. John, it wasn't me (I think) at which these comments were directed but to other commentators on my last post. Some folks just cannot keep their cool. Thank you, John. I appreciate your continued support. God bless.

  13. Wow! I don't blame you, Stephen, for wanting to stop that kind of stuff. You have a great blog and that was a great post yesterday. I just don't understand folks that want to rant on others blogs.

    Take care, my friend.

  15. Sad sate of affairs, but I certainly understand. My Dad tought me never to make a statement/comment I wouldn't stand behind if others knew the source. It is a lesson that has served me well. Perhaps your change will provide others an opportunity to learn how to respectfully disagree with a differing perspective. Big hug to you. MM
