Hard Cider

It's been many years since I've had hard cider. As I passed the beer cooler this evening something made me reach and grab a sixpack of this -

Very refreshing. Went well with cheese. If you'll excuse me I think I'll have another.

  2. The last time I drank hard cider I was in Ireland in '91. The brand was "STAG" and should have been "Stagger". Ah, such good/blurry memories.

    1. Wish I had been there. Love Ireland, for some funny reason. Thank you, my new friend.

  4. It's pretty good for commercial stuff. It's been a few years since we've done a cider pressing at my buddy's place. Making hard cider is easy. In fact, it can be hard not to make it. :)

    1. If I had the trees I'd made a batch every year. Love the stuff. Thanks, Sixbears.

  5. I enjoy Woodchuck Cider. Ice cold, on my porch, just after the mayflies hatch. Just sit, sip, and think about catching some trout tomorrow.

  7. Hey Stephen,

Never had hard cider, any good? What else would you pair it up with besides cheese? Oh......and if you're planning on making it, please share with us :-)

    1. Yes, it is excellent. Pair it with any food...in my opinion. Never tried to make it (Florida isn't good with apple trees) but my friend Sixbears knows the secrets of apple cider. See above, and thanks Sandy.

  8. That's a great one. I had it a few weeks ago. It changes your perception of cider. It's not the hot, mulled stuff on a cold night. It's great on the porch on a hot day.

    1. I really like it. Purchased another six pack this evening, different favor and just had one as I made dinner. Good stuff. Thanks, my friend, and it's nice to 'see' you again.
