Take Down 10/22

I just read Ruger is offering a take down 10/22. The story is here. I think its worth a look.

For me it would depend on the price.

  1. I've always like Ruger products. I'll check it out next time I'm at my local gun store. However, as clever as it may be, price will be an issue. It's not like I don't have plenty of .22 rifles already.

    1. Sixbears, had to retrieve this comment from the spam folder, sorry for the late answer. Like you, I've too many .22's to count and this is more a want than a need, and I don't NEED it. Thanks.

  2. A .22's not that cumbersome to deal with, and "shorter" is a handgun. A take-down model is a "need" I don't have. If it works for others, then that's what the free market is all about.

On the link below it says $389.00

My question is this part of the deal where they aren't taking new orders for the time being?

    2. Rev. Paul, I agree with all my heart...just posted for the fun of it.

Matt, thanks for the link...too much to pay for such a weapon, in my humble opinion.

  4. A folding stock works just as good. Had one for my 10/22 years ago. it worked really good.

  5. All good points. The take-down feature will sell a metric buttload of them, not that Ruger needs to sell more firearms right now. Flier makes a good point, too. I own a 10/22 that looks exactly like the one above, but obviously not a take-down. Would I buy one of those if I had the money? Mmmmm, probably. :)

Now, imagine if they made a take-down stock that folded. Oh my, it would be so small it might defy the laws of physics.

    1. Ruger has their finger on the pulse of the American Gun Culture, so I agree, 45er. Good points. Thanks.

  6. Looks like it is $300 retail:

Would I buy one? HECK yes. I love odd and different guns. This one is square in my wheelhouse.

    2. That Guy, it would be nice to own, as a second hand weapon - for me. Thank you.

      Matt, indeed. Thanks.
