The Owls Sing

My clock tells me it's 0438 and I can hear the owls sing. I have a pot of tea set to boil. Hopefully, in a while, I'll hear the thud of my morning paper.

This would not be a good time for a critter to try and break into my home. I'd welcome it with a smile.

  2. Lately, Rob, many restless nights. If I fall asleep and any little thing awakens me I'm done for night. This morning I awoke at 0300. Done. Makes for a very long day. Sorry to hear about your foot. Pain, I'm told, is the bodies way of telling us we're still alive...I believe the author of that line needs to reconsider his life. Thanks, and, try and have a good day in spite of it all.

  3. Once I've had a few hours sleep, it's nearly impossible for me to fall asleep again. Too many times in the past I had to function on short sleep and I'm conditioned to get moving.

    1. It's hard on me. I barely function with a full nights sleep...thanks, Sixbears. Take care on the road. Yes, I'm following your drive home.

I don't sleep well either. Sometimes my rooster wakes me up at 3 o'clock. That does it - I feel so ornery, I would go gleefully to the coop and shut him up for good. I know I really couldn't do it, but it makes me feel better to think I could. Besides, I forgot where I put the ammo.... and it's very, very dark out there.

  6. Hope you get some restful sleep soon. I just went thru a spell like that. Er. My husband is the same after he wakes thats it! I am the one that has the least little noise to wake me. I can go back most all the time. Unless I have to get up and grab the gun. I always holler " come on in, you won't be leaving the way you came in, they will be toting you out". don't worry I have only done a couple of times in the past 20 years! My neighbors yard light shines through my yard. The deer and such doesn't mind it. It sometimes feels as though I live in the city. .

  7. Sorry to hear you are missing sleep. You know, of course, that things never happen when you're at your most ready. Sorry I've been missing lately. I'll be out of pocket for a while.
