Stolen Pleasure

The doctors office called today. They told me they searched the office and exam rooms for my Kindle. It wasn't there. Like I didn't know this before I even asked them to look around.

Told Sweet Wife and she said, "Well, your birthday is just a few days away why don't you order a new one and I'll make it your gift."  She's like that...sweet.
So, tonight I did order a new one. They've updated the Kindle Keyboard. Free anytime connectivity, 3G. Of course the price has been updated too. Seems I can reload the new one with all the books in my Amazon account, nice.

It'll be a nice 34th birthday gift....

Stephen

  4. Well, thank goodness you get your books back. If something comes through on your card, you would be covered for the loss. In the event something shows up and if you get hassled, email me. That happens to be a specialty of mine.

  5. Happy birthday to you! I have a 2nd generation Kindle, and my youngest received a new 3G model for Christmas with touchscreen - the keyboard appears on the screen when needed. That's kinda nice.

Happy, happy birthday! Spend you very special day sitting on the porch and reading a favorite book on that new Kindle.
(Don't know if I would ever get one though - I like the feel of a book in my hands).

    1. I shall do whatever my wife suggest for her entertainment on my birthday, like I do each year. She's funny that way. I still read good 'ole paper books too, and shall never cease to do so. Thanks, Sweet Lady.

  12. Sorry to hear about the Kindle, but thankfully celebrating your a year older means getting a new one - not sure if the tradeoff is worth it but as much as I love my Kindle, I can imagine its the same for you!

The worst part of the whole thing is that these things are serialized with an ID that when they sync, amazon knows who has it, just like Apple/iTunes knows when an iphon/touch or ipad sync with their store. You'd think they would allow you to report it as stolen or lost, submit proof its yours and then they would de activate the thing from syncing with their store by anyone, rendering it useless unless they leave their ill gotten goods the way it was when they 'received it'

  16. Happy B day!! I thought that you were only in your twenty's?

And, I'll stick with books with paper pages. If need be, I can always use the pages for T P if I need to.

The Kindle on the other hand might be a bit harsh, and hard to use on your bum.

Hope that you have a great Birth Day my friend.
