Sunday Morning

It's chilly and wet here today. Time for me to build a chili which I shall tackle as soon as the day nurse leaves this morning. Sweet Wife told me to and I always obey her.

Sorry for not posting yesterday but we took a quick trip to St. Augustine. Little Bit needed new school shoes and other feminine items. Seems too my wife needed a break from her routine and she can only find rescue by spending cash.

I had talk with my nurse yesterday, dropped to my knees and begged to be released from prison. I need to return to work; open my shop. She said, maybe. Next week. I said, think I'll just sneak out and spend a little time at the office. She said if you do you'll lose all your insurance coverage. Jesus wept. Like I've said, what they don't know won't hurt them. My shop will be opened next week. Screw 'em.

Think I'll tackle Brigid's brownies today too.

Have a great day and I'll see you later.

Stephen

  2. ack. you know i want to come down there with the "special" boots on but i think that sound pretty on the mend and maybe if they let you go back to the shop, for a few hours a day, and you don't overdo it - then that will be good for you! take pics of the chili please! thankee!

    1. kymber, I'll be fine. Yes, I 'gimp,' as each step gives a bit of discomfort, but I'll be fine. I'll still on the antibiotics, so they should continue to protect me for a while at least. Pictures posted as requested.

  4. You need to listen to your nurse. You want to be helpful in your healing. If not you slipping away is gonna give you away! I don 't think its good idea to sneak . What she don't know about, may just come back and hurt you! Read and cook. Rest for now. . .

    1. Nope, not gonna do it. Never thought I hear myself say it, but I'm tired of a leisure life of books and cooking...I need to be back in my element. I need to smell of gunpowder and leather. Thanks.

  5. And the stubborn streak continues. Now we all know where Little Bit gets it. Be careful and CYA...;)

  6. Please don't open officially until you are clear! Insurance companies are just plain cruel & looking to bust anyone these days. Just crack the door & peek around if you must.

Dang those brownies look good. One of the things that I absolutely can not cook. Always stick, are under done or over done, glass pan, aluminum pan, etc., doesn't matter. But those look good enough to try. Thanks Brigid.

It's been raining here for over 4 hours, sweet & steady. I think I can smell that chili.

    1. I'll be careful...really. The chili is very good. You must be close to North Florida to smell it...seems I'll wait until another day to make my friends brownies - didn't have the ingredients. Thanks for the nice comment.
