First Post

I wanted to get his out of the way, my first post of the new year. I was in the kitchen just a few seconds after the ball drop. I put a mess of blackeyed peas in the crock pot. Hey, it's tradition.

Down here in the South it's said for every blackeyed pea you eat, you'll make a dollar. I plan to make a pig of myself.

And so we begin another year. Hang on.

  3. Ha! Contrary to rumor, you are not what you eat ...nor is your destiny, my friend. But I love black-eyed peas, so I hope you thoroughly enjoyed the feast and I hope all your aspirations are fulfilled in the new year!

  8. Phelan, I must remind myself on occasion many folks are behind me on the 'ole clock. Thanks, and a nice day.

Keads, I hate to admit it but no, absent collard greens and ham hocks. Instead, ham. I didn't think to grab them while at the market. Hang my head and walk towards the corner of the room...

Warlock, and to you, Sir. Thanks.

HossBoss, ah, come on, don't burst my bubble with logic...shucks. Have a great day, Sweet Lady.

Duke, same for me but for dinner. We are still in the process of packing away Christmas...'bout halfway in the process. Little Bit is whipped.

Matt, same to you my friend. Take care.

John, I hung there and watched the ball drop then passed out. Have a great day in the snow.

PioneerPreppy, go ahead, try the peas, they're good. Thanks.

Rob, can't stand the Black Eyed Peas, I suspect they'd do things - weird stuff, if given half a chance...I like my peas fresh from the shell. Thanks, Bubba.

  10. Rev. Paul, and to you too, Sir. May God, indeed, bless us all. I'm afraid we'll need it.
