  2. Matt, trust me...when loaded with double ought buckshot...cream pies on the street...

mmasse, the Benelli is fine for upland bird hunting, the odd duck or goose, but zombie democritters require a real shotgun. Thanks.

  6. Stephen, What would you recommend to a newbie who doesn't know a thing about weapons? Rifle and or hand gun?

  7. Rob, my friend, you asked 'the question.' First allow me to ask you first learn the rules of firearm safety as set forth by Mr. Jeff Cooper (if this name isn't familer, and I'm sure it isn't, Google it) because I do not want to responsible if you go out and blow off a big toe, or heaven forbid, harm another...I should do this as a blog post. But here goes...

    All guns are always loaded!
Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy!
Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target!1
Always be sure of your target!
Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.

Now, for a beginner I always recommend a simple .22 caliber rifle. Your choice but I think a fairly inexpensive, buy at Wal-Mart, Ruger 10/22 or Marlin model 60 will suffice. Handguns? Yes, begin with a revolver in the same caliber. They work and seldom if ever break down. Find your local gun range and ask for help...allow them to teach you if they are willing. Buy gobs of ammunition. Practice. I've practiced until my hands were black from gun powder residue...then practice some more...
    Hope this helps.

  8. Thanks for the information, it will be at lest a year before I get near a weapon. Yes I will take any and all safety classes. Its not like I am going to go grab a .50 Ca. and go G.I.Joe.
