Hey, That's My Bronco

Guess I've been asleep at the switch. I've just discovered 'Fast 'n Loud.' I like this show.

And, I want my Bronco back...

  1. "We" really like that show too. I won't admit it but it is interesting.

  2. I have a soft spot for the old Broncos - back in the day, I had a '67 and a '69. Loved those things!

    1. Me too, sadly I never had the privilege of ownership. Now, older, and I hope, wiser with the means, I can't find a clean stock model. They've all been chopped and the prices are silly. Somewhere out there I'm sure is an old barn wherein one has been tucked under canvas with my name on it.

  3. I'll always be an IH fan, but Broncos are almost as good.

    1. Muddy, I too like old International Harvesters and like nice unmolested Broncos they are hard to find. I'd settle for either.

    2. The further west you go from Florida, the more you'll find. But even here, like the 40's Jeeps, the majority have been butchered, lifted, and re-engineed into Frankenstein trucks that are a shadow of their former glory.

    3. Indeed. All of 'em here have been eaten by salt water. I hate it when people chop them beyond description...although, it's their right of ownership. I enjoy plain and simple. Stock.

  4. Go get one and we can try it out at the farm and river.

Back in the day I had built 3 of those. I started with a 1972 that my brother wrecked. Then I bought a 1970. ( the one in the first picture on
the blog post I linked) I built that up and drove it back and forth to college at the Uniiversity of Michigan in 1981 ( Boston to Ann Arbor 4 trips in one year) It rotted out and I found a 1967 from texas. That was pristine. I added even more to it. Roll bar, rag top, hi-po motor , lift kit
winch, gearing.. on and on. One winter a tree crushed it in my parnents yard :(. ( Ya we have real blizzards here). Any way, The red one in the post came from a barn up here in NH. All original 1972 - original owner with only 22,000 miles. I got it for a good price, did some work to it, relived a few months of my youth and put it on ebay on a whim. I made out really well. They are gettin HUGE money. If you want to. Do a google search of "theferalirishman bronco" I have posted other bronco stuff and google will show the links. One link is a georgeous 1974 that a friend completely restored.

    Have a great nite!

  6. I don't know if you guy's catch Ted Nugent's hunting show, but he drives a custom restored bronco on his ranch...

I tried to find the link, but couldn't.....

    1. Yes, he does have a nice rig. Guns, trucks, and tasty animals to eat. What else can you ask for.

    2. I seldom if ever get a chance to watch Ted's show. Not even sure where to find it, Outdoor Channel I suppose. Ted certainly has the means to afford a custom built Bronc. Like Senior suggested, he's a lucky man indeed.

  7. The Broncos were okay. Dad had one and while I never fell in love with it, it was always a good reliable woods ride.

For pure fun, I really enjoyed his old Jeep CJ 3 with a custom built cab. Did silly things with that old Jeep, but never walked home.

    1. Sixbears, at this point in time I'd be happy with an old Willy's M38. It'd be a sacrifice, I'm sure, to drive such a relic...but when you are reduced to second place, well you know....

  8. Ah, my kind of people! Had my Bronco for 12 years until she literally fell apart. The BEST little fun vehicle I have ever owned. Use to take her everywhere - fishing, mudding. I would pray for snow, just so I could have some fun while going to work. Good times back then.

  9. I want MY Bronco back with all the fine you women that went with the one on that episode! I had a badass 78. the whole nine yards big tires, lift kit, built motor, new interior. Wow I miss that truck! Sold it in a moment of weakness.

  10. I understand. I've sold certain firearms and ten minutes later regretted it...kills my soul.
