Done

The restoration is completed.

She even wears a new Coleman logo.

I completely rebuilt her tank. Nice shiny brass.

The finish on the grill is the result of two hard days of labor.

And, she works. See that pretty flame. Not bad for a forty year old camp stove.

Not long after I shot these photos I began to dissemble stove number two, a smaller model. This restoration stuff is addictive. Perhaps after its finished I'll move on to a lantern.

Later

Stephen

  4. Well done! It looks great, and seems to be working better than the new ones (not surprising, really).

    1. Indeed, the stove does function better because the gas system has been cleaned of gunk and grease and dirt. Rust inside the generator is usually the cause of low volume.

  5. Stephen, you did a beautiful job. Maybe you should try your hand with a 1946 Knucklehead. I have a question. Where did you get the new Coleman logo? Nice touch. Don

  14. Looks wonderful! We grew up camping with onethat size, have a3 burner ourselves. I just recently picked up a couple on freecycle. They are pretty battered (well used?) hope I can clean them up to look as nice as yours. My daughters will love them
