My problem with a Taser when used defensively is that the second you let off the trigger - or the 5 seconds are up - the "tasee" is back to what ever they were doing to start with. Unless they are drunk and then they just want to lay there and cry. So if you care enough to send something downrange - make it lead!
Tasers work pretty well too. At close range they are very effective.
