Baby Steps

I shall ease back into this blog with baby steps.

*****
Kymber, yes, it arrived and thank you very much.

*****
Isn't the passage of kidney stones one of life's defining moments.

Think, floor in a fetal position begging for death. Sadly today I feel the second on its way, asking for birth.

*****

Two days ago a carload of democritters did a 'drive-by.' Eight shots. Three down. I have one of their spent nine mils in my pocket. I retrieved it from the side of my shop. No, they were too fast for me to get off a shot. Trust me, I tried.

One of these days....

*****

I've missed you guys.

Stephen

  2. I'm glad you're back, too, but sorry to hear about the stones. Those drive-by critters picked the wrong place, the wrong time, and the wrong guy to mess with.

Feel better quickly, my friend. You're in my prayers today.

    1. Thanks, my friend, Thankfully my shop wasn't the target. It was gang related, or at least so said the police.

  4. Good to see you back!

Sorry about your health. And that you didn't have time to discourage any thought of a future drive-by in your neighborhood.

    1. I'll be fine, my friend, and thank you. The boogers just drive far too fast for me to leave my office and get off a well placed shot. Besides, the cops would then take my carry piece and spoil my day for sure....

  5. Hope that stone passes quickly... Sadly there is no 'easily'... Get well sir, you are missed!

  6. I had a kidney stone. It took way too long to pass. But it did. I compare the pain to what drilling into a rib with a brace & bit would feel like. The stone was worse. You have my heartfelt sympathy.
Mine was caused by too many cokes, dried pineapple chunks, and dehydration in the Fla. summer while working in the sun.

    1. Like all things.....It will pass. Hang in there.

    2. Thanks, my friend. Very apt description indeed. I seldom drink soda, never eat pineapple but the dehydration has hit me more times than I like to remember. Take care.

  12. Welcome back. Hope you get over that last stone soon. Drink lots & lots & lots of water! Heard about that drive by & was wondering which side of the park it was on. Jeez Louise.

  13. Glad you are back, Stephen! Hubby had those damn stones a while back, too. Passed them 10 minutes before he was to go in the operating room.
Watch your diet - citrus was the culprit. Be careful out there.
    I missed you....

  15. Glad to see you back. Way too quite on the net without your wit. Next time those fools happen by, they would crap if a group of folks came out of the wood work tossing some lead.

  16. I have a friend that keeps a stone in a small jar. It's about a quarter inch in diameter and covered with spikes. My immediate reaction was it was a huge grass burr.

I asked if the surgeon had a hard time removing it, which led to him explaining he passed the stone........I had no comment and only shook my head.

  17. Now you have a souvenir or lucky charm with that 9 mil round. Well now you know the thugs can't afford HP's. Surprised in its condition.

  19. Sorry you are in pain. Hope it passes quickly.

  20. Welcome back and sorry for your pain. I recommend lemon juice and water to help it pass. Supposedly, the mood acid of the lemon juice dissolves some of the sharper edges off the stone. My one experience with a stone was considerably less painful after the juice than before.

  21. Hope you're felling better. My stones are caused by my poor diet according to my doctor. He said stones are caused by things such as iced tea and beans. Huh? I've had iced tea and either pinto or great northern beans every day of my life since I was 6 months old. No wonder I have passed over a dozen stones in my life.
