I walk into the confessional. The priest slides the shutter aside, then, "Please, Father, hear my confession."
"Yes, my child, pray continue."
"I must confess Father, I have sinned."
"What are your sins, my child?"
"I'm so sorry, Father, but during a weak moment this morning, I watched the Presidential Inauguration of President Obama."
Silence.
I broke into a hard sweat.
Then, "I'm so sorry child but I cannot help you."
"What will happen to me Father?"
"Like the rest of the poor sinners of the world, you shall burn in hell. Please, leave now."
Stephen
Oh, my! Not even 1,000 Hail Mary's is gonna help you Stephen!!!! I will pray for your soul! LOL

I know. I'm doomed. Yes, please pray for my soul. Thanks, Dear Phyllis...all my love.
DeleteWe turned on the boob tube this morning, to see the local weather forecast. Discovered the local morning news was not on, because it's more important to watch the kids, VP, and whomever else was there, getting into & out of armored limos.
ReplyDeleteThe radio's nice, this morning; the Christian station only mentions the goings-on in DC once a hour, and then plays music the rest of the time.
Now why didn't I think of the radio...I can't get Chuck Shumer's image out of my mind. Soon as I'm finished with this it's back to a book. Thanks, my friend.
DeleteReally? You did? Wow...Not enough Hail Mary's, Our Father's etc. for you..
ReplyDeleteNone of that for me..At work..If I had been home am sure MBWITW and Boyz would have kept me locked up until it was over...
I'll pray for your soul....You best get reading your Bible and any others you have laying about!!
At least I went to bent knee and asked for forgiveness...and I must still read the Bible. You know it's bad enough when I enter the church and the candles dim...
DeleteDoes the Holy Water burn?
DeleteJust asking...I mean if the candles dim...
I turned on the tube this morning & it was either cartoons or inauguration. I wasn't sure which one was which, so I turned it off.
ReplyDeleteI guess the parade is over. I've been reading a good novel. It's a dark day in our nation. Thanks, my new friend. I need to remember to put a link on my sidebar for you...if I forget, remind me.
DeleteThanks for corrupting the day, I didn't even know it was today till I saw your post.
ReplyDeleteAlways willing to spread the cheer, my bestest buddy.
DeleteI saw a clip of the "event" last night in a restaurant on the tv in the bar (it's amazing what lousy seats you get when you enter with two 3-year-olds). I nearly had to gouge my eyes out. I'm surprised I made it through the meal. Good thing there was no sound.
ReplyDeleteHmm, I just read the other comments and it appears the damn thing is today, not yesterday. I'm so glad I'm not knowledgeable on such things. I guess I saw a clip of 4 years ago. Still, a miserable sight.
DeleteI agree, Mermaid, and its depressing too. Thanks, sweet lady.
DeleteI did not turn the Tube one. Instead the boys and I got out in the back yard and modified my raised vegetable beds. I now have to pay the little fellows..they asked for a pan of Brownies for the hard work. I guess I should give half the pan to Senior for taxes. : )
ReplyDeleteHey, I want some...
DeleteI listed to the speech on my way to the gun shop... NO compromise and no bipartisan attempt at all... sigh and GOOD one Sir!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteVery true. It was a liberal love fest. Shucks, thanks for the kind compliment.
DeleteI considered hanging a black wreath on the door yesterday but I have enough respect for Martin Luther King not to.
ReplyDeleteI understand. I've never had an issue with the man. His followers on the other hand bug the hell out of me. Thanks, my friend.
