Or is the Capitol Fourth the corniest show of Independence Day.

Of course we always watch. Well, at least Sweet Wife. I'm reading your blog.

    1. You know, Honey, we have these new fangled things called satellite dishes, where even in the frozen north, television reception is possible. Thanks, sweet kymber.

    2. I have a TV, but I never watch it, so I am with Kymber.

Given Kymber's military background, she probably has a satellite dish, but is already using all the bandwith to run her post-apocalyptic RPV airforce.

    3. ditto on the no tv and I don't miss it one bit. Usually just a bunch of foolishness and slanted news stories.

  4. Go outside and pop off a few rounds, I can just hear the 911 call...."officer someone is shooting in my neighborhood"
the reply would be something like..."yea right".....click.

    1. I thought about it, pooping off a few rounds, but I'm too cheap. I'd rather save the ammo in case the democritters attack.

  5. I missed the show. It wasn't a big TeeWee night around here.

I did NOT spend the evening shooting colored and sparkly rockets in the back yard and listening to the kids across the street squeal and cheer.

That sort of thing has been deemed too dangerous for mere citizens.

  6. We went to bed early and slept through everything.
Woke up to the news of fires from fireworks where houses in a town 30 minutes from here had to be evacuated because the fields and woods behind the homes were on fire. Approximately 1 complete block of homes were evacuated around 1:30 this morning.

    1. That's a shame. We're lucky this year, well, kinda lucky if your home has been destroyed by flood waters. But anyway, we're too wet to burn. Thanks, Sweet Sandy.

  9. Our dog is scared to go outside to pee, even though it's all over.

Right now, it's midnight, so it's July 6 already. I can't sleep. I want a cup of coffee and know it's a 'no no' this late. Rules rules rules. I guess I'll just sit up until it's officially coffee time.

    1. Sweet One, I sure feel your pain. I have many, many of those nights. I break the rules though and have my coffee. I mean, heck, I'm awake so why not. Thanks, my lovely friend.
