The Castle Doctrine

Let it be known I'm not in the habit of writing a post about current news events. I've read a few blogs over the last few days taking sides, one way or the other, over the death of Trayon Martin. As many of you know we have a wonderful law, yes, wonderful law, here in the state of Florida. It's called The Castle Doctrine. Not, Stand Your Ground, BTW. For more information, click here. Something about this story, stinks.

Our Castle Doctrine has now been cast under a light of evil by the leftest media. This same media fails to mention all the innocent lives it has saved over the last few years. Mark my words, not only is our carry laws under fire but so is our Second Amendment. Write your congresscritters.

I did find one very well known and intelligent blogger with whom I agree...here. Please, take a moment and read.

Stephen

  2. Same here. I agree this is being used as a staging ground to go after the Florida Castle law (perhaps all castle laws) and the Second Amendment.

Plain and simple. We may steer clear of current events but this time I think we need to meet this one head on and support Mr. Zimmerman. The whole story is too fishy to convict him in public like they are doing.

    1. I'm not sure they even arrest the man. The governor has appointed our cities district attorney to work on the case. Thanks.

  3. What the left is not saying is that Zimmerman did get attacked by this kid. But the hot button issue is the black kid was killed. At first they thought by a white guy, not a Latino. It is going to be a long hot summer.

    1. True. If it had been a tattooed gold chain wearing white boy nothing at all would have been mentioned.

  5. Try this link for the post you are talking about

As for them not arresting him Stephen what I meant was he is already being convicted in public sphere and is going to need support before it happens in the legal one as well. Unless enough people begin showing support to make the race hustlers and gun grabbers worry it will be a dog and pony show. We need to be seen supporting him.

    1. Thanks for the link, and good point on the 'arrest.' By our law, the cops cannot arrest him if he felt his life was in danger...but like you said, he'll be hung by the press...damn shame.

  6. Yes, the kid attacked him, and in that case he was justified in defending himself. With deadly force? I don't know, that would be up to a jury to decide.

But...he got out of his car, and after the dispatcher told him not to. I'm guessing that is a decision that he regrets bitterly, and will do so to the end of his days regardless of the outcome of this particular case.

The best way to win a fight is not to get into one.

    1. Larry, the deadly force isn't an issue with the Castle Doctrine...here. The law states, as the press loves to print - Stand Your Ground. Unfortunately, in most cases when a person feels and/or knows their lives are in play, deadly force is the only way out. I agree, at this moment he bitterly regrets his actions. Remember, he wasn't arrested when he took this action, months ago...only when the liberals sunk their talons and began the screams did any action take place by law enforcement. Thanks, my friend.

  7. This is one of those stories I really don't care much about, what I wish is the Florida Gov would tell the Fed's to back off and let the State handle it and then refuse to hand over information to them. It's really no business of the fed's.

    1. Agreed, it is a state issue. Seems our governor had bent to the will of the press. This fella doesn't stand a chance. This morning critters have taken to the streets of Chicago and other large anti-gun cities. The president has jumped on the band-wagon too...thanks, Bubba.
