Vicki...please be careful as it isn't common knowledge but the fact is zombies have natural anti-freeze streaming thru their stinky systems. When you step outside, be ready. Boogers will jump 'ya. If you're in need of self protection, say a small handgun or rifle, well, you just let me know. See that new fella (he's over there on the right side under 'follow,' name of Duke...? Click his face and then proceed to his blog. He too will take care of you. He owes me. He's forever sucking down my coffee and taking space in my office....tell him I said to send you a .22 plinker.
Oh, Geez, Stephen. I didn't know about the anti-freeze! I won't go out after dark until I am better armed than I am now! Kidding aside, I bought a 12 gauge last fall, but am looking for a handgun. Not sure what to get, as it has been a lot of years since I had one. Advice?
Remember, zombie (against what legend states) vocal cords are paralyzed...if you hear a shuffle behind you, run.
On the handgun, yes, good idea. I'd recommended a Ruger LCP (or Elsie Pea) It's small, semi-automatic, light, and is chambered in the .380 ACP. My wife carries one and loves it. Easy to operate, and at seven yards (standard combat range) very accurate. Ammo is fairly cheap and available at Walmart, or your local gun trader's shop. If you want a tad more stopping power, try the Ruger LC9...Google both. Oh, buy used. It's a sin to pay retail. If you decide you want either and can't find one, leave a comment here on any post.
I'm afraid my running days are over. Looks like if a shuffle comes up behind me, I'm a gonner. There is a small gun shop a couple of blocks from where I live, and I will check with them as soon as it warms up a bit. Still too cold & too much ice on the sidewalks this week to go for a walk. I know the shop buys and sells, so that might be a good place to start. Bought the 12 gauge used - is in excellent condition. I don't often buy new. Thanks so much for the advice. I really appreciate it.
It is important to understand, sweet Vicki, I have a very dry sense of humor....my running days have faded to gray too. I trot, half-run, and when need dictates - shuffle with grace. Thanks, my lovely friend.
No worries, dear Stephen. Dad and his 8 siblings all had the same dry sense of humor. All could have you believing something perfectly outrageous, right up to the time you caught the twinkle in the eye. I get it!
That's nice, the twinkle. In my spare moments I'm working my way thru your blog. You've written some very nice pieces. Now, please sweet lady, reach over and click my follower button....thanks, my friend.
Yes....something awful. We need a 'net' shootout. Each blog make a target....shoot, submit. Winner (honor system) takes the pot. We each throw in a box of ammo...something common like .45 ball. Call it a turkey shoot. Best of three. Submit proof on blog. If I lose I'll 'pull a Brigid.'
No worries here. The zombies are all frozen solid. Come spring, however, some target practice may be called for!
