Behold.
My first banana bread. I know, for those of you out there this is very simple. You've probably flipped out hundreds. That lovely bundle of goodness, is for me, a major step.
I get it now....one cup means one cup...not a scoop as I'm want to do.

OMG I LOVE Banana Bread.
ReplyDeleteIt was good...even if I do say so myself. Thanks, my friend.
DeleteIt's all about measurement.
ReplyDeleteProfessional bakers don't work in cups, but by weight. More precise.
For you and me, by the cup, teaspoon and whatnot is good enough. I used to make a lot of bread products, but have cut back on how much of them I eat, so baking has taken a backseat.
I learned the hard way...I'd dip and dump. Now I try and take my time.
DeleteI've yet to attempt bread. So far, cake, and cookies. It's kinda fun. Thanks, my friend.
It is a food group unto itself.
ReplyDeleteYes it is and a meal isn't the same without bread.
DeleteWe went banana bread crazy for a while. My son was bring home a left over box almost weekly. Oh so good hot with sweet cream butter.......
ReplyDeleteA whole box...wow. You are correct, hot, with coffee.
DeleteHe worked for Fresh One. They delivered produce to Race Track, and Hess. If they had anything left over they split it and took it home. He even brought home some sandwiches. They picked up the produce and cut fruit at Skychef Flight Kitchen at the airport in Orlando
DeleteI have been told with regular cooking you can estimate the ingredients but with baking you MUST measure and be precise with your recipes, so don't be hard headed. Read and follow the directions!
ReplyDeleteAh, heck, that's no fun. I once added two eggs instead of just one, the results were wonderful, at least according to my wife.
DeleteDoublehomestead is so correct on baking!!!!
DeleteI'm going in to work around 6:30a each day now, with the bridge debacle.
ReplyDeleteAre you open then? I would love a piece to eat on the way!
Way to early. Sorry. Do you use the Dames Point...
DeleteTry pumpkin bread. You'll love it.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea, Bob...I will. Thanks.
DeleteStephen,
ReplyDeleteI just made 3 loafs of pumpkin bread and 2 of beer bread. They don't last long in the house when the guys are around. Congratulations on making your first banana bread, I bet it tastes amazing!!!
Thanks, Sandy, it was pretty tasty.
DeleteLooks good enough to eat! It's one of my favorites, BTW! you did good, buddy!
ReplyDeleteThank you, my friend. I hope all is well with you.
DeleteA few years ago, my wife and I decided to make some banana bread, since we had some bananas well along the way south.
ReplyDeleteWe consulted my mother, who is an expert, followed her recipe and made two huge pans with the anticipation of freezing some for later.
There was no later, we devoured both pans over the next week.
I must admit, Jess, after my coffee was ready I destroyed half the loaf...thanks, my friend.
