What are the specs on the safe.... fire rating? Did you or will you bolt it to the floor? I kn ow someone who had a 750 lb safe stolen right out of his house.
Now Mudbug, calm down...stand over there...good. That's just a few toys. Nothing special, and hell no I'll not do an artistic photo spread of my stores. Just made a point; safes, are small when you get them home. My wife said I should buy the next size up, but, no....not me...and spend a few extra hundred dollars...face slap.
Matt, that huge revolver is a Taurus 'Raging Bull.' Its a man-sized fist full of doom. Its chambered in .44 mag. Her barrel is 8 inches. She is loaded and ready to rock and roll. The specs, from memory 'cause I don't have the book with me are: Browning 30 gun (trust me, she's loaded with more than spec) Fire rating, all I remember is 45 minutes at burn your butt temps. She is bolted. God help the moron that attempts to break into my home.
Keads, thanks for the info...my little book is at home and I just could not for the life of me remember. It took all I had yesterday to just prioritize which firearms I wanted in the safe and to stand in front of it, like a dummy, and practice the combination. She's a nice one for sure.
And yeah, they all come in one size- too small! One thing some people forget is to seal the areas where they bolted it down with fire stop caulking. A tube of the stuff is not cheap but without it you lose the fire rating. Hope I did not insult your intelligence!
Nice safe, even if you think it is small! You just need another one. It look as though it handles the job taking care of the ones it houses. Can you ever have too many safes? No. I made my husband put ours in my walk-in closet. It was too big anywhere else!
Shame on you, posting those pictures. It's like porn for survivalists. Next thing you know, you'll put up an artistic spread of your food stores...
ReplyDeletesome people just like to brag.... :0)
ReplyDeletehey, what is that big revolver sticking out on the door on the last photo?

Stephen,
ReplyDeleteNice safe! I know it is a UL listed residential security container, UL tool attack rated and if memory serves the fire rating is 1200 degrees@ 45min.
