Thank You

To all my new followers - thank you. For an older guy writing bits and pieces for his grandchildren to read when I, hopefully, reach Heaven, I am honored to have you along for the ride. And, if any of you have linked this small blog to yours and I haven't caught it, please let me know and I shall respond in kind.

  1. Stephen,
I found your site through the Rural Revolution blog and have to say that I like it, Brother. I am a father of three small children and in my line of work(public servant) I often see the side of life that most don't. Especially the "sheeple". As I read your post about being a guardian angel I found myself relating to you and your way of thinking. I often catch myself running through scenarios in my head while at restraunts, movies, bad neighborhoods, good neighborhoods, etc. All of them as a "what would I do" kind of thing. Thanks for the blog. I had one several years ago, but have since quit writing. You've kinda' inspired me to jump back in the game. I've been in the prep game as an amateur; maybe it's time to go pro. Good luck to you and your family; especially the little one. I often realize that my three little ones hold my heart in their hands as well. So...thanks for the inspiration and God Bless, Brother. The Hillbilly.

  5. Lila, I owe him big time. He is the man that put the bug in my ear to write this blog. As I've said, he is and shall always be my friend. Thank you very much for your kind comments.

  6. I found your site on Rual Revolution and wanted to say Hi. There was an old man in my home town that i would see every morning on his porch when we went to school and again when we went home. I didnt realize it till later that he was guarding all the kids who walked to school. I never learned his name till he died when i found out he was a WW2 and Korean war vet who was wounded several times and awarded 2 bronze stars. I guess he kept protecting people till the end

  7. Thank you, Anon for the memory. Old timers like him are hard to find these days. We still have a few but for the most part the Good Lord broke the mold when he gave them to us. They are our lost generation and I doubt we shall see the likes of them again in our lifetime.
