Heat

This heat is so very oppressive. It's currently (I just checked) 95 degrees in the shade. The shop's a/c runs continuously.

Ants have gathered in my head (restroom) and are each in turn bathing in my toilet. One seems to be holding an iced tea.

Excuse me, I've work to do and I need another cup of coffee.

Autumn should be here in just a few weeks. Hang on.

Oh, forgot - seems I've a new follower. Since I cannot find a name it's difficult to leave a proper thanks and welcome. You know who you are....so, thanks. If you'll leave your name and/or blog, I'll respond.

Stephen

  1. Mid 70's here today with no humidity. That's a rare occurrence especially in August.

I think I have the Northern relations of your ants living in my kitchen though.

    1. Tell your ants my ants said hello. I'd give anything for mild seventies.

    1. Currently we're experiencing sever thunderstorms. The rain is heavy and our temps have dropped to eighty seven. Wind gust expected of forty to sixty. Nice.

  4. Wow. Your readers are having cool weather? But then they'll be complaining about being snowed in, so I'll take a week of misery to avoid months of what awaits them.

I'm SO GLAD you explained "head" meant bathroom. I was startled and knew you couldn't spray your face with bug killer.

Joe likes to get out of the house and go places. In Hernando, there are no "places" to go. (dull) Because of this horrid heat, we've been inside for four days. Going a little stir crazy, but we're cool.

    1. Old military term, head. Think about it.

We too have tried to stay inside, but it doesn't always work out. I've decided to allow our grass to grow. The heck with it.

    1. Warlock, I truly love days of gray skies and fairly heavy winds and temps in the forties. Build a nice fire and grab a good novel with a cup of nice hot coffee....

  7. There's a cold front moving into the South. The Weather Channel says it will cool down some for the weekend. Been awfully hot and humid here, too.

    1. Ah, yes. Back in the days when I lived out west, Grouse season opened the first of September which was normally always rainy and gray and perfect for a dog and shotgun. I miss it.
