The Ugly Pink Walther

She just bounced in off the street - a working girl, and laid the ugly pink Walther P22 on my desk. She said, "I don't know if its loaded. You want to buy it?"

It was loaded.

I asked her price. Her, "Give me a hundred and its yours."

I must have a hole in my head because I gave her the hundred after I checked the bore, gave it a function test - it passed. Hey, I'm a capitalist, so sue me.

Thing is, its pink. Pink with silver highlights. The is a drag your butt in the mud slap ya mama ugly handgun.

Some dude will make his wife or daughter happy some day soon - when I find a willing buyer. Or, I just might throw it in the safe for my granddaughter.

Blurry picture is my middle name.

Later.

Stephen

  4. The little P22 is a fine shooter - regardless of its color. Just remember - beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

PS: I don't live in Canada, how far away for San Antonio are ya? ;-)

  5. Anon...a long way. It's true, they are fine little handguns. Thanks, my friend.

Kymber, my dear, will the government of the far north allow you to own it. I know they recently eased a few of their draconian gun laws, but I thought handguns were still the epitome of evil in Canada. Down here, this P22 is just a fun toy. Thanks, my dear one.

  8. I told Papa Bear...Don't you ever buy me a pink pistol. I don't know for sure but I think if I was in a situation of having a pink pistol pointed in my direction I would be rolling on the ground laughing. Yea...I know they will hurt you just like the normal colors I just can't take them seriously. I'm also a little afraid a child would mistake it for a toy.

  10. I'd carry a pink Walther. I man who carries such a gun shows he's not afraid of anything, even ridicule.

  11. THE UGLIEST GUN is now yours! When I was shopping for a 9mm,I was aghast at the salesmen who pushed pink weapons towards me. It's for KILLING, and not fashion, and pink diminishes what a weapon stands for. Having said that, HOW do you make sure it's not stolen?? Isn't that necessary before you re-sell???

    1. Who said it was stolen....? Private sale. She probably received it as a gift from a boyfriend for personal protection....thanks, my dear.

  15. We have an elderly plain black p-22 that the kids use for target practice. My daughter saw this one earlier and practically squeed herself unconscious then squeaked out "they makes them in PINK?!? Why didn't you TELL me they made pink Walthers?!?" This has been added to her short list, along side a GSG and a Ruger 10/22 with an Archangel stock. If i sit quietly I can hear my husband's wallet breaking... :)

    2. I was reminded that she called it pink digital camo. I guess that was a point of pride for her, that she recognized it. And she hopes that your Little Bit gets to enjoy her pink rifle someday soon, as do I.

    3. GG - you might not wanna tell her that the new Ruger 10/22 takedown is now available in a lovely shade of blue (accompanying backpack is red with black trim). Probably only a matter of time before it comes in pink.................

    4. All little girls should have a Ruger 10/22 even if in blue.

    5. She didn't care for the Ruger takedown that she held. I think it had to do with the stock, it sounded hollow and didn't feel "right" to her. She said it felt like it would break easily. But, you're right, if it came in pink she'd probably like it better LOL
