Sunday With a Book

As you know I work Saturdays. After I close the shop it's home to more work. Yesterday, and most of this morning, it was yard cleanup from last weeks storm.

This afternoon I hope, really hope, to relax and read. I've a stack of books that need attention. Later today I might just prepare a meal, not sure. Kinda feel lazy.

Don't expect much out of me today. I will spend a few hours, now, and read your nice blogs. See you guys and gals later.

Stephen

  2. with all the rainy days I've had lately, one would think I'd get more book reading done. Instead, I find myself outside in the rain. Oh well.

    1. I'll take the rain any day over 91 degree temps with very little breeze. Enjoy, Sixbears.

  4. The trick is to relax while reading. I find it impossible to relax while relaxing.

The posts I'm writing have gotten under my skin. I just hope I can give help to someone. anyone. Then, maybe I'll learn how to relax.

    1. I understand, dear lady, but if your writing brings relief or helps one person heal, and I'm sure it has when you consider a world wide audience, its all worth the effort. Relax, you've earned it. Thanks, my dear friend.

  5. Stephen, You've been working hard, stressed and now it's just time to relax. Maybe read or take a nap.

A recipe for relaxation: create a hammock from an oversized blanket, string from two trees (of cource in the shade). Lay back, read a little and snooze the afternoon away.

Just a thought, please give SW a hug from a Oklahoma friend.

    1. The hammock idea is a very good one. But, now with our summer heat and tons of rainfall we have mosquitoes but the millions...I noticed a couple with bibs. I'll pass along the hug. Thanks my nice friend.

  6. Enjoy! I don't know if you have a half priced books store there, but they almost always have some real finds in the historic and bargain aisles, places a lot of the customers don't look at.

I did much the same today. Didn't make the blog meet, tired, and up late on the phone with Dad (3 hour time difference means we talked until about 1 am) I read, baked bread and took a nap. Not a bad Sunday.

    1. Brigid, we do have a ton of half-priced book stores, and used. I take advantage of them all indeed. What's not to like about a Sunday of books and fresh baked bread. My kind of day. Thank you, Sweet Lady.

  7. Stephen,I don't know what I'd do without my books. Stess relief, mind travel, thought provoking, education. I get it all from books. I found a couple of flea market booths with deals on books. One is 3 for a buck and the other is 7 for 4 dollars. I've been loading up.
