Update

The doctor asked me to drop my trousers. At the top of my left leg is a swollen hard red knot about the size of two softballs. Doc said, "Wow."

Then he said, "Bet it hurts." Doctors, I understand, are considered intelligent.

Bottom line, I'm sicker than I first thought. I'm on three antibiotics, one shot into my hip.

All I want to do is sleep.

I'll live.

Stephen

  2. WTH??? You had a knot the size of TWO softballs and you were not worried? I would be at the Mayo clinic screaming for help. I'm glad you got a doc to look at at it, hope everything gets OK.

    1. Oh, I'm worried...doctor said it's serious. I'm just not allowing the condition to scare me. I return tomorrow for another round of 'park my dignity at the door and walk on in.' Thanks, my friend.

  14. It's ok. I'm sure Stephen is a typical male like me that is just sure it isn't anything until it is something. Good luck with that one, my friend. Hopefully your rear shrinks quickly.

    1. So true. I did ignore it. Walked kinda funny for a few days. Then, I stepped from the shower in front of my wife. She screamed...the rest is history. Thanks, my friend.

  15. Wouldn't a mass the size of ONE softball send you to the doctor like a LONG TIME AGO? Yes, I am nagging.

I am reminded of my brother who was complaining of hard knots in the groin area, like lymph nodes? He went on and on about them, and then he happened to mention that he had a "little grass burn from soccer". His entire butt cheek and thigh were hot, red, oozing yellow stuff and blood. Yeah, and he finally said something when he got a knot in his groin. Men.

    1. Funny. She asked her Nana this morning if Papa had to get a shot. Nana said yes and Papa didn't even feel it. Little Bit said, oh he felt it, he's just to mean to admit it.

  21. I'm praying for your recovery also. Is it catscratch, maybe, or MRSA. Had the former and it caused the same deal but under my arm. Doc wanted to call it cancer or something but The Lord listens to prayer and the Doc came back with the better news. Plenty of feverish nights though. Anyway, Like I said, you are in my prayers. Feel better!

  22. Thank you, my friend. No it isn't cat scratch, if I can spell it correctly it's cellulitis. Bad stuff according to the doctor. And, its spreading.
