Dawn

Do you hear the crows? The sun strains to break our darkness and with this slight light the crows caw and squeal and now I hear a flock of geese, I'm sure, ready for a river landing.

The dawn is peaceful, isn't it.

Take an adventure, move outside with your cup of coffee.

See 'ya later.

Stephen

  1. 19 degrees here this morning. I wouldn't be going out if I didn't have to. On the plus side don't need any coffee to wake up the cold takes care of that :)

  2. Its 35 and rainy yucky outside. Where I'm I'm at, its a great day to lay up and watch the Walking Dead marathon that just started.
    Enjoy your day.

    1. I do so enjoy the show, kinda wish the writers would turn the tide back to badass. Thanks, my friend.

  3. With temps here in the below zero category, any self respecting crow is sitting with his feet close to the fire to keep them from freezing.

However, a little over a block away is a nice little park next to the river, and I have spent many a warmer morning sitting there watching the sunrise, the moving water, the birds and an occasional squirrel that the dog likes to chase. That's one of life's pleasures.

    1. Crows here build tiny fires on top of the power poles....cook crowbo stew, smoke pine tar cigars. Then again we have weird birds.

  4. A whopping 4 degrees here and if I need to venture out it will be to the woodshed to get another armload of wood. No crows. Not even the eagle (it flew to PP's place... it is warmer there). Only the junco's are out to see what kind of treats have been left in the snow where we feed the goose and her duck buddy. But looking out, it is a lovely morning. The sky is turning pink and purple. Pretty soon it will reflect onto the snow capped mountains. Right now I'm waiting for it to warm up to about 10 degrees before I venture out. :-)

    1. Like the Swedes say, 'there isn't such a thing as bad weather, just bad clothing.' Ah, go on, run outside and take a pee. Thanks, Bro.

  6. So true - I let the chickens out for their breakfast as soon as it starts to get light. It's cold. And noisy with the crows and the local geese. Nighttime brings out the yipping sounds of the coyotes. It's good to bundle up and sit outside with a cup of hot coffee and just listen.

  7. I've spent many an early morn watching for the sunrise with a hot cuppa in hand. But these days I'm at work by 0600, and have to settle for an occasional trip into the hall to see a window.

Coffee or hot tea early in the morning or later in the evening outside taking in what the good Lord has provided is a good thing!!!

  10. I agree with Rob, this morning when I left for work it was 8F with a -9F chill factor. A bit cold for me to head out on the patio.

  13. You're so lucky. In northwest Ohio . . . you don't take your cup of coffee outside at 18 degrees.
