World War Z

Thanks to Netflix I've finally watched Z.

Not a bad flick, and I do recommend you take a gander. Try and spot the Coleman lantern, the real thing, not the battery model.

Remember, zombie uprisings are very unpredictable. Keep a firearm close to hand in case of attack. My constant companion rides behind the seat of my truck.

Zombies are a real threat...all I need do is glance outside my window and count; there, six of the boogers across the street.

It's dangerous out there.

  2. And yeah, they're all around us. Varying stages of development, but the .45 never leaves my side.

    1. We've enough to stock a good sized battle ship with spares.

  3. +1 to R.P.

I hope the movie is better than the book. I tried reading it and put it down out of boredom. It seemed that the trailers to the movie were pretty good as they were a little unnerving.

  4. Time to prepare. .44 Special ammo is again available. Buffalo Bore, wadcutter only, but that will do the job.

    1. .44 is very plentiful here...at fifty dollars a box. Yep, it will take care of business.

  5. Matt, the movie is pretty enjoyable as zombie movies go. I haven't read the book. So, I can't compare although I heard that the one has nothing to do with the other. Pitt did a credible job of selling his role; however, the zombies were a little too "super human" for my taste. There was some other Hollywood silliness which seems to be unavoidable in any movie much less zombie movies. The "freshest" zombie movie I've seen in a while is "Warm Bodies". It's worth a rental if you want a light hearted romantic comedy involving zombies.

  8. I had a Kel-Tec Sub-2000 (and like a dummy sold it). I really liked the gun and the concept. Just wish they would have used a few more metal parts in it and had provisions for 2 mags built into the forearm.

  10. The book was okay. The only problems I had with it was the latent internationalism in it as well as the overall assumption that the "collective" (as opposed to the independents) was the wave of the future. It was an interesting concept. We have the movie - I'll make more an attempt to watch it.

  11. I went to Netflix and watched it and was pleasantly surprised. I thought it would be much heavily slanted towards staying in tune with Mother Nature and preaching the climate change mantra.

  12. dear sweet one - how strange that we just watched this movie last night! it's pretty heavy on violence and i found it interesting that they actually referred to "the 10th man strategy" which is never mentioned in main stream media...the other thing i found interesting is that one of the safe zones that they set up to free brad and his family was "nova scotia"...and they were referring to the mainland and not my island!!!! i thank god every day that we chose cape breton island as the safest place to be, no matter what happens. you've got our address...you head here at the first sign of any probs, whatever they may be!
