I take a day off to relax and read only to drift from my state of rem sleep to find the government shut down.
Isn't it wonderful.
If I'd of known a simple day off would restore a partial restoration of state's rights I'd of taken two days vacation.
Stephen
Aw heck, take the rest of the month off . . . ya never know.
ReplyDeleteIt would be my pleasure.
DeleteWith the resident's proclivity of writing unconstitutional executive orders to bypass congress at his whim, I don't expect much to come out of this. He'll just EO the funding to continue and the Constitution be hanged.
ReplyDeleteI'm willing to bet the ink, even as we speak, has been applied to paper. Let's enjoy this while we are still able. Thanks, my good friend.
DeleteI wish they would shut down a whole year, give us all a break.
ReplyDeleteI hear 'ya.
DeleteSince the Chief Executive believes he can choose which laws he'll enforce, perhaps we should likewise choose which laws we'll bother to obey.
ReplyDeleteSeems only fair, and he's all about "fairness", right? :)
yeah in an "all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others" sort of way.
DeleteRev., I understand he polishes his halo each morning.
DeleteMatt, yeah, like that...
I am willing to bet that if it was not announced no one on the civilian level would have noticed. Except those waiting for government issued items.
ReplyDeleteAnd all those none essential federal employees.
DeleteI had a few moments of panic, when I realized I wouldn't be able to visit Old Faithful, but then I remembered I wasn't planning on visiting Yellowstone, don't really care if it's open and wish we'd quit spending taxpayer money for the top of a volcano.
ReplyDeleteAs announced on NPR.
DeleteYou know how many people work at Old Faithful? they feel differently. I'm sure.
DeleteRat, I'm sure Old Faithful and the critters of the forest and the streams and mountains can take care of themselves. If anything the state should be responsible, not the federal government. The federal tit is broke and I for one am tired of my dollars refilling the bag for leeches and parasites.
DeleteAs long as it just means parks and museums are closed I won't worry much. But they said on Fox tonight that it is going to negatively impact veterans health care and that's not good.
ReplyDeleteHealth care is available if we need it...always has been. Scare tactics.
DeleteMilitary and Vets are taking it in the shorts (again), no real surprise from THIS administration...
ReplyDeleteTrue enough....but like you said, no real surprise.
DeleteI think Congress should all be furloughed and see how each of them likes losing part of their paycheck.
ReplyDeleteOops, like them and their Obamacare exemption.
DeleteThe major shame of this is that 75% of it is still functioning, and still spending. Lets furlough Mr. Obama.
ReplyDeleteI agree, my lovely friend. I agree.
DeleteThe tea party causes a shutdown and Obama still gets the blame.Typical.I removed my vulgar posting but still think the tea party is wrong!
ReplyDeleteOops, hit the wrong button...see reply below.
DeleteI believe you should lay the blame on Obamacare. Yes, Obama gets the blame, the same Obama government that gave the following instructions.
ReplyDelete“It’s a cheap way to deal with the situation,” an angry Park Service ranger in Washington says of the harassment. “We’ve been told to make life as difficult for people as we can. It’s disgusting.”
I always try to err on the side of Freedom.
Thank you for the nice comment, my friend.
