M6 Scout, Update

I've yet to find an M6 Scout for my personal use. Many are listed for sale but I will not pay the inflated prices. I want a bargain.

I still feel this is the one perfect firearm for survival purposes. Its versatile.

  1. It certainly is a survival rifle. Butt ugly though.

  2. .22 AND shotgun? It's so tiny, the kick would be excruciating and it would seem the full metal would heat from firing the shells. But, $600 would probably get us a beat-up one.

ALL my rifles, shotguns, and automatic pistols (yes. Fully automatic and no longer sold) were cleaned out while I was at work. Their cases were left in place, so it took a few days to even find them EMPTY.

It still breaks my heart to this day. On the day I came home, the interior of the house "felt strange", eerie. Now I understand more about the instincts of animals, and how they react to the non-visible atmosphere. I could FEEL something in the air, but it took until the next day, while at work, for me to identify the odd feeling.

I went into the Chief's office and said "Chief, I think I've been robbed." He allowed me to drive home with fear and trepidation dogging me.

Every case was empty, and my emergency money was gone. There indeed had been a stranger invading my personal space.

    1. I hate a thief..pure hate 'em. I know how you feel. I've had a few firearms stolen from me. Anyway, the little M6 has very little to no recoil. Its a single shot and will not turn hot. Its a tough little rifle. I still believe six hundred far too much to pay.

  3. As simple as those little rifles are they should be sold at Walmart for no more than $69.95 but supply and demand makes them over $500. I do have a savage over/under 22/410 with a wood stock.

    1. Very true, Bubba, if they had a market. I too own a Model 24, pretty one, in .22/.410. Nice piece indeed.

  4. "Everything comes to he who waits." You'll find one.

When I first saw this post I thought you meant the M6 armored car from early WW2. I was immediately seized with the desire to own one myself.

  6. I went with a LEINAD
    22/410 O/U with folding stock
to fill the role of the M6.
I couldn't/wouldn't pay the inflated price for the M6.
Leinad has hada bad rap, but I like them and can shoot the dog stuff outa them.
They are cheap enuff that I'm trying to collect them all. Warning they bite.

    1. That should do the trick, Dragon. I've never tried one. I've owned many variations of their derringers over the years, the old Cobray pistols, and have like them. Thanks, my friend.
