Query

Show of hands - when you post a comment to this humble blog, how many hit the subscribe button?

I've often lost sleep over the fact it sometimes has taken me days to respond to your kind comments, either way, your answers will help in my comfort, sleep patterns, and daily routine. If an extra cup of coffee is necessary, prior to bed, I will make every attempt possible to respond in a timely manner.

Or not.

Thank you.

Stephen

  1. I don't usually subscribe to blog comments, since I visit pretty much daily via RSS.

  2. What Bob said; I visit every day anyway, so I don't need to know separately if you've responded to a comment.

Regarding your worry about not replying, I can say only this: please, sir, remember that blogging is a hobby, and we all know how hard you work.

Answer when you can, and we'll be content.

  3. There's a subscribe button?

I see you've put new posts when it shows up on my blog list. Always check your comments on what I've written earlier.

    1. Thanks, Russell. We should chat about books...I need an interesting read. Much of late isn't worth my effort.

    2. Some thoughts based on what I understand of your preferences:

Have you read either of John S. Wilson's books (Joshua, and Traveler)? These are best of class of the self published prepper style novels.

Scott B. Williams' sequel to The Pulse, titled The Darkness After, just came out. I have not read this one yet, but the first one was well received.

  5. Do you really want to have a pic of a silly chicken showing up on your subscription blocks?
(I check in often anyway, Stephen)

  6. I always subscribe to comments unless its a very high traffic blog. I have a hard time remembering what I commented on. So, subscribe dumps it all in my inbox.

    1. Me too...I'll comment and only remember the next time I read the blog. Makes me feel old...

  7. I usually subscribe to posts I've commented on.

Still, no need for you to worry about timely replies. Tho' admittedly I also feel guilty if I don't reply to a comment over at my place -- but I have nowhere near the traffic you do.

    Cheers,

  8. I've NEVER subscribed to any blog to see what the blogger thought of/replied to my comment.
If I am interested, I go back and check.
Hell, I didn't even know we COULD subscribe!

  9. Your posts show up on my blog & I always go back & read your reply when I comment.
I don't see how you manage to reply to every comment considering traffic. Never tried the subscribe button.

  10. I don't subscribe to many blogs; I just read them from my blog list/favorites/gunblogblack list.

I don't worry about people taking time to respond; as I've been eloquently and forcefully reminded lately, people have a life outside of a blog.

While I think you have the greatest intentions, not every comment needs a reply. Sometimes we simply want to wish you luck, let you know we are thinking of you or say "Spot On Dude".

  11. I don't exactly know what "subscribe" does. I come by your blog every day anyway. I also know that you are busy and have a life, so I don't expect to hear from you right off the bat.

  13. I don't subscribe either, I just try to roll by every day. I do try to respond, but I can't always do that either... And yes, we DO have lives, so I don't expect an answer to every comment! Remember, it's a hobby!!!

  15. dear sweet one - i check my blogroll every day or two, sometimes three. but i always read the newest post on a blog and then check the next post to see if i have seen it or not. if i haven't seen it i will read it and so on and so on and so on....

i try to always answer my comments but i can say i am guilty right now of having 2 posts up and i haven't responded to the comments yet - i will do so after supper. most of the people that comment on our blog are good, friendly, understanding people and i know that they know that i have a life and don't live on the internet and so they are very forgiving. i think the people that you have here are the same.

so don't lose sleep over not responding. your original promise was to always reply to all comments...and you always do.

    your friend,
    kymber
