Her plans shift second by second, but as it stands, we should be on the road to Georgia within an hour, or two, or three. To refresh your memory we have agreed to move my wife's mother into our home.
Seems the MIL has issues with her taxes and is reluctant to leave until her accountant (By phone and fax.) toes the line and agrees with her numbers.
I've sent word her cell will receive and send just fine in other states. We even have a branch of the United States Post Office.
This will be a long, long day.
Stephen
I feel for you. My MIL can be trying at the best of times. If we ever have to share a roof I'm pretty sure I'll just relocate to a tent in the backyard.
ReplyDeleteMy tent is on standby. Thanks, Bubba.
DeletePatience my friend, patience... All I can offer...
ReplyDeleteI've ordered booby traps...
DeleteI see a lot more trips to the range in your future. Just a hunch.
ReplyDeleteSteve
Indeed...thanks, Steve.
DeleteSounds like just the first of many long days . . .
ReplyDeleteAll the best.
And nights...
DeleteWhat a great photograph. If only the road were paved with yellow bricks...
ReplyDeleteof Gold.
DeleteAlways try to look on the bright side of any situation Stephen. First of all, you get to have a lovely drive with Sweet Wife. Secondly, just think of all the funny stories you can write about now! (I could probably top most of 'em).
ReplyDeleteSee, it ain't ALL doom & gloom .....
Phyllis (N/W Jersey)
You have a point on the writing....I'm taking notes. Thanks, Sweet One.
DeleteUnderstood. My MIL maintains (somehow) a four-bedroom house, despite living along. She's given lip service to selling it & finding a senior apartment nearby for 15 years, but ...
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, she recently took in a boarder who rents the two upstairs bedrooms, so she won't be vacating anytime soon.
I feel for you, sir, but you can do this.
Read the fine print of my last entry....it's scary.
DeleteStephen,
ReplyDeletePlease have a safe trip. Take good care.
Thank you, Jane...it was a long tiring trip, but safe.
DeleteYou and sweet wife are now eligible for sainthood.
ReplyDeleteBlah...not really...but, it's for my wife and I love her. Thanks, Cathy.
DeleteStephen,
ReplyDeleteOh boy, this will be so much fun for you and Sweet Wife.
I think you'll be spending more time with your buddies out at the camp/range.
Hey Oklahoma always has gun shows, great excuse to come and visit if you need to get away. Hubby and I have a pull out couch, lol.
Enjoy your trip, be safe, and have all kinds of patience.
I'd love to visit you guys...and not just for the gun shows. Fun, not really. Thanks, my dear friend.
DeleteWhat doesn't kill us makes us stronger! It will probably do a world of good for Sweet Wife to have some time with her mother. If my mother were alive my husband would be fine with it or I would withdraw food. Suppers at Mickey D's can get old quick. I hope this can bring your wife some comfort and peace in her life. You are both In My Prayers and think of ya often. Love.
ReplyDeleteThen I can bend iron....thanks, Sis.
