I Hate

The first of the month. I've spent all morning writing checks. Settling accounts rates right up there with dentist visits with me.

At least I had an hour or so visit with, Duke, this morning to break the boredom. We discussed current events, spoke of guns (the survivalist variety) and I proudly flashed him a couple of my new knife purchases, and the coffee was good and hot.

I returned from the bank where I gave over a bundle of cash to cover all the checks I wrote. Filled my trucks tank while I was out, as they say, killed two birds with one stone. Seventy five friggin dollars worth of petroleum. Ah, for the days of ten cent a gallon gasoline. Those were surely the days, my friends.

Now, please excuse me. I believe I'll dive back into an online novel. Make believe zombies help ease the strain of the constant noise of the construction just beyond my door.

Be careful out there...

Stephen

    1. I asked but the girls wanted far more money per hour than I could afford...of course I agree with you.

  2. Sounds like a good day to be elsewhere. Maybe the boss will give you the day off? (wink, wink)

  5. I did the same thing as you today. I saw the bank to pay bills and found their computer down. Visited them two more times until it came up again and they could be paid. Then I got diesel for my car. Then, I was too poor to do anything but come home where they will likely feed me free. LOL

    1. Sadly I handle both our home and my business accounts twice a month. Many have asked why I still write old fashioned checks. I read this morning of the BOA system crash...now, they understand. Thanks, Jane.

  6. I hate paying bills, like most folks. My least favorite is the property tax bill. Did that one Thursday. Only once a year, but it sucks cuz its so big all at once.

    1. I understand. Same with me. Taxes are nothing more than a regulated ripoff. Thanks, my friend.

  7. I would rather enjoy good company (a visit from a friend Duke), play with weapons, and enjoy a fresh pot of coffee than pay bills. Don't get me wrong, I pay my bills. I just hate watching my money go away, lol

  8. On top of bills, my dentist mentioned I might want to start 'putting aside some money' since my oral surgery is cash only. Putting aside money?? Is there such a thing as money that can be 'put aside'?

    1. Isn't it silly...put aside money. I like to invest my left over pennies in tangible investments...like (in no special order) firearms, ammunition, gold and silver, and food.

  9. Having mentioned the knives, the Rule of Gun/Knife forums dictates that you now show pics of them. ;-)
