It's not politically correct to bring it up, these days. I personally think we should talk about it every day, and ESPECIALLY when some new story lands on the front page about this or that immigrant demanding sharia law in the U.S.
Why that whole region isn't a sheet of radioactive glass is a mystery to me.
I've always held we should have turned the whole of the middle east into a soft green glow...then, stick a flag in the sand and ask the rest of the world if they any questions. Thanks, my friend.
we won't ever forget Stephen. in fact, it was this very event that got me into prepping, learning how to grow our own food and eventually getting out of the PC city and moving here to this very white, very christian island. there are no mosques here!!!
Agreed. I spoke with my girls this morning, as they were young (1,5,8) and could not understand the depth of what was going on in the world around them. They remember being picked up from school almost directly after getting there,(we lived in MD at the time), and I as a young mother knew my children would only be safe at home with me. We will always discuss the horrible events of that day, so that we will NEVER FORGET.
Kymber IS right - that was our wake up call too. Took us eight years, but we did it. Not as far away as Kymber moved, but nowhere near a city. Had to learn a bunch of new skills, though. As we all should because it could just happen again.
Phyllis - i think it was a wake-up call for a lot of people and i am very glad that you were one of them! and i am very glad that you are acquiring new skills - you sound like a true and proper prepper to me!
Phyllis - i love your comments that i see here and other blogs - please feel welcome to leave your well-thought-out comments on our blog - i would love to interract with you there! thank you so much, new friend!
I can't get it out of my mind. I felt the same way about the 1993 bombing of the WTC. After that I had an ominous feeling and I still do. Not sure what, impending doom, SHTF, WW III, not sure where we are going but since the 90's it has felt very ominous and eerie. I get up and turn on the cable news every morning exactly like I did on 9/11 and wait to hear of something even worse. Where will it be? Israel, Europe, Tiawan, New York, Washington...
I will never forget!! What I was doing is as clear today as it was 11 years ago. My heart still aches for all the loss of lives and the loved ones left behind.
Our only child lives not far from where it happened in NYC we know all about it..To me people should speak of it daily, many lost their lives for what, America is not respected in many countries, yet many would give their entire body limbs to live and breathe our air..Our child travels to many countries and sees what most women will never have that the USA does have, she loves the USA and cannot understand the hatred and the envy yes the envy but the hatred no..When she gets off the plane from where she travels she nearly kisses the ground...If we cannot defend ourselves in our precious USA where are we living in some third world country not the USA!!!!!!!!!!! To me this day should be a federal proclamation never to ever forget what happened...love your blog...read it daily, get a lot of hints on how to survice in case of some crap happening to our precious country..both my parents were immigrants to this great USA they became citizens almost immediately and spoke english well, they brought us up (large family) to be so proud to be an Amercian and my Dad had to sign up for the military to defend his new country, he would never return to Germany, my Mother was educated in europe she would never return to Spain or Cuba countries she was raised in, they loved this country..I think every school kid in high school should serve in the military in order to Vote and every kid should be taught history correctly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SOLI, It does seem like so many have forgotten. Thank You and some of your readers for remembering what happend on 9/11/01. ...A Tough day... THANK YOU for you blog...Joe F.D.N.Y.ret.
