She even wears a new Coleman logo.
I completely rebuilt her tank. Nice shiny brass.
The finish on the grill is the result of two hard days of labor.
And, she works. See that pretty flame. Not bad for a forty year old camp stove.
Not long after I shot these photos I began to dissemble stove number two, a smaller model. This restoration stuff is addictive. Perhaps after its finished I'll move on to a lantern.

Nice! Well done, it looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThank you, my friend. It was fun.
DeleteThat came out good!
ReplyDeleteYep, I'm proud of it. Thanks, Bubba.
DeleteLooks good. Much better looking than my old stove. Wonder if it looked that nice when new.
ReplyDeleteThanks, my friend...and I bet your stove, when new, looked just as nice.
DeleteGreat job Steven! Now are you keeping the stove or selling it?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sandy, and I'm not sure..good question.
DeleteWell done! It looks great, and seems to be working better than the new ones (not surprising, really).
ReplyDeleteIndeed, the stove does function better because the gas system has been cleaned of gunk and grease and dirt. Rust inside the generator is usually the cause of low volume.
DeleteStephen, you did a beautiful job. Maybe you should try your hand with a 1946 Knucklehead. I have a question. Where did you get the new Coleman logo? Nice touch. Don
ReplyDeleteDon, I haven't the expertise to tackle a bike...but thanks. I purchased the decals from http://www.oldcolemanparts.com/home.php?cat=31
DeleteLike brand new! Good job.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Craig...it's tedious but satisfying work.
DeleteLooks really, really good. Any job worth doing is worth doing right! Enjoy using your 'new' Coleman - I can smell the coffee perking already!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dear Lady.
DeleteWow! It looks brand new. Great job.
ReplyDeleteThank you, my friend.
DeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteAh, shucks. Thanks, mizdeb.
DeleteYeah, but now you're going to get egg drippings and bacon grease all over that purty paint job.
ReplyDeleteYes, indeed...but it's bacon after all...
DeleteGood job!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bob.
DeleteLooks good Bubba.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bubba...don't get any ideas....
