5 year Gold comparison to S&P 500 |
Contrary to what the typical media and stock broker would have you believe, gold has out-performed the stock market and is poised for future throughout 2013. Black-Gold Performance, Red-S&P 500 Performance |
Gold Discoveries through 2009 |
Even in 2012, gold discoveries are at an all-time low while demand is growing at a all-time high due to poor economic news and demand by growing countries such as China and India. This market pressure is the primary reason why gold will continue its rise through 2013. Stephen |
I've ready where China and India will begin buying their oil in gold and not in US Dollars in late June. If it performs as expected Gold should rise again as the value of the Dollar declines yet again.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Matt. Gold, is good. Thank you.
DeleteMy question to this group of wise men/women. Could the US return to the Gold Standard to prop up our greenback, or would it just cause too many problems??
ReplyDeleteRob, we are pretty much hosed either way.
DeleteRob, what Matt said....thanks. But in answer, anything is possible. I do not foresee our government bringing back the gold standard. The Federal Reserve, an independent company, makes 6% for the notes it prints for the government for a period of ten years. It too damn profitable.
DeleteAnd silver is going to become even more precious since I heard that the silver mines are all but shut down. Don't know if that's true or not though. Get ready for anything with silver in to go up as well including the x-rays at the hospital. The hospitals are recycling all the old x-rays to get the silver off. Wouldn't be surprised if people started robbing hospitals for them either...
ReplyDeleteDenise, you're spot on about silver. It shows great promise as an investment and hedge against inflation. Like you, I'm not sure if the rumors are true on the silver mines, in fact, I kind of doubt it. Interesting news on the x-rays. Thank you for the kind comment.
DeleteDrat, we still haven't found any pre-depression gold coins in the walls of this old house. If they had had them, the bank would not have foreclosed and auctioned the place to the previous owners in 1939.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to know that silver is doing well too.
Mrs. S., silver has done great over the last three or four years. Buy a bag full....thanks, Dear Lady.
